An udāharaṇa illustrating 4.1.28: the word 'laughter' (hāsa) is never used, yet the hāsya mood is felt through the vibhāvas alone — here a volley of comic insults heaped on Kuṭilā, daughter of Jaṭilā. Read the whole verse as mock-praise: each 'compliment' is really an ugliness.
