L1definition
tac cāpahasitaṁ sāśru-locanaṁ kampitāṁsakam ||
tat caand that [next grade of laughter] is — tat resumes the running list of laughter-types; ca 'and'और वह भी (हास्य के जिस क्रम की गणना चल रही है, उसी में आगे)
sāśru-locanamwith the eyes gone tearful bahuvrīhi: locana 'eyes' + sa-aśru 'having tears'जिसमें नेत्र आँसुओं से युक्त हों
kampitāṁsakamand with the shoulders set trembling bahuvrīhi: aṁsaka 'shoulders' + kampita 'trembling'और जिसमें कंधे काँप रहे हों

The next grade of laughter is apahasita, 'laughing-off.' In it the eyes fill with tears and the shoulders start to shake.
apahasita is one of the six ascending grades of hāsya in this lahari (smita, hasita, vihasita, avahasita, apahasita, atihasita); this line gives its lakṣaṇa (definition).

The udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) for apahasita of 4.1.24 — laughter with tears and trembling shoulders. The scene: Nārada in the sky watching Kṛṣṇa's play in Vraja.

Viśvanātha unpacks kampitāṁsakam: aṁsaka means the shoulder-region, and the word names the laughter in which the shoulders are set trembling.

Viśvanātha paraphrases the whole scene. The divine sage Nārada — tears welling up, his shoulders faintly quivering — whitens the clouds with the white glow of his teeth [as he laughs]. Because of that (yat = 'because', tat = 'therefore') Nārada turned his gaze on Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the transcendent child of Vraja, who was dancing at an old woman's coaxing: 'O Kṛṣṇa, dance, and I'll give you pieces of laḍḍu!'

And so, seeing Śrī Kṛṣṇa dance [for a few laḍḍus], Nārada laughed out loud. That, Viśvanātha concludes, is the point — and this is apahasita, laughter with tears and shaking shoulders.
