Take an elder's attachment to Kṛṣṇa. Awe, reverence, and the rest have fallen away from it. What is left is plain tenderness — the kindly feeling of one who wants to protect and care for him. That attachment, and that alone, is here called vātsalya, and it is the abiding emotion of this rasa.

tu — but; yaśodādeḥ — for Yaśodā and the rest; vātsalya-ratiḥ — the attachment of parental affection; nisargataḥ — by its very nature; prauḍhā — is full-grown.
Now the special case. In Yaśodā and the other elders this parental attachment is already full-grown. It did not have to ripen over time. It is ripe by nature.

From outside it does not always look full-grown. Sometimes it appears as prema, sometimes as sneha, and at times, they say, as rāga. Those are the ascending stages of love. The point is only how it looks; the commentators will say what is happening underneath.

yaśodāder ity upalakṣaṇaṁ |
yaśodāder itithe words 'of Yaśodā and the rest' iti quoting the pratīka, the catch-word from the verse'यशोदादेः' — यह श्लोक का प्रतीक (पकड़ा हुआ शब्द) है, जिसकी व्याख्या की जा रही है
upalakṣaṇaṁare only a pointer, not a limit — they name a sample so you can find the classउपलक्षण है — अर्थात् केवल पहचान कराने वाला संकेत
yaśodādeḥ iti — the phrase 'of Yaśodā and the rest'; upalakṣaṇam — is a pointer.
Jīva stops at the words 'of Yaśodā and the rest'. Do not read that as a closed list. It is a pointer: Yaśodā is named because she is the clearest case, and naming her lets you recognise everyone else who belongs in the same class.
upalakṣaṇa versus viśeṣaṇa. A viśeṣaṇa is part of what the thing is — 'the blue lotus': blueness belongs to that lotus. An upalakṣaṇa only helps you spot it — 'the house with the crow on it': the crow will fly off and it is still the same house. Here 'Yaśodā and the rest' is the crow, not the blue. It identifies whose vātsalya is full-grown by nature, without shutting the door on others who qualify.

He completes the pointer. The line covers others besides Yaśodā — anyone whose parental attachment stands full-grown in the same way.

rāga-parākāṣṭhātmikāmeans it has for its very nature the furthest reach of rāgaजो राग की परम काष्ठा (अन्तिम सीमा) स्वरूप हो
prauḍhā — 'full-grown'; rāga-parākāṣṭhātmikā — is that whose nature is the highest limit of rāga.
What does 'full-grown' mean? Jīva sets the bar high. It means this attachment is, in its own nature, rāga carried to its furthest point. Not a step on the ladder — the top of it.

antas tu sadā prauḍhaivabut inwardly it is always nothing but full-grown tu sets the inside against the outside; eva shuts out any drop in degreeपरन्तु भीतर तो वह सदा प्रौढ़ ही है — 'तु' भीतर को बाहर के सामने रखता है, और 'एव' किसी भी न्यूनता को हटा देता है

premādivat iti — the words 'like prema and the rest'; yathā anyeṣām premādayaḥ — as prema and so on are in others; tathā bhāti pratīyate — so it appears, so it registers; tu — but; antaḥ — inwardly; sadā prauḍhā eva — always full-grown alone; iti arthaḥ — this is the sense.
Jīva takes up 'like prema and the rest'. In other devotees prema, sneha, and rāga are real stages they pass through. In Yaśodā the same stages only show on the surface — bhāti means it is perceived that way. Inside, he says, it never drops: it is always full-grown. That is the whole meaning.
