Each quarter names one sign and the act it blocks.

gokuleśā iti atraat the word gokuleśā, 'mistress of Gokula', here in the verse printed as gokuleśety atra — gokuleśā + iti with sandhi; atra locates the note on that one word'गोकुलेशा' — यहाँ इस पद पर (छपा है 'गोकुलेशेत्यत्र', अर्थात् 'गोकुलेशा' और 'इति' की सन्धि; 'अत्र' से यह टिप्पणी उसी एक शब्द पर टिकती है)

acalaṁ govardhanaṁ dadhataṁ sutam ||
acalamthe verse's word acalam, 'the unmoving one''अचल' शब्द का अर्थ है
govardhanammeans the hill Govardhana the gloss word takes the same accusative as the word it explainsगोवर्धन — व्याख्या का यह शब्द उसी द्वितीया विभक्ति में है जिसमें व्याख्येय शब्द है
dadhatamand 'holding it up' goes with —उठाए हुए
sutamher son, back in the third line supplies the noun the participle dadhatam agrees with, which sits a line awayपुत्र को — 'दधतम्' जिस संज्ञा का विशेषण है, वह यहाँ जोड़ दी गई है; मूल में वह एक पंक्ति दूर पड़ी है
acalam — the unmoving one; govardhanam — is Govardhana; sutam — her son; dadhatam — is the one holding it up.
Viśvanātha fixes two things. First, acala, 'the unmoving one', is the hill Govardhana. Second, 'holding it up' describes the son from the line before. So the picture is one: the son she cannot embrace, cannot look at, cannot advise is the very son standing there with the hill on his hand.
