prapannāḥ bhāṇḍīre’py adhika-śiśire caṇḍim abharaṁ
prapannāḥit has taken on, it has arrived at printed with a plural ending; the sense wanted is prapannaḥ, singular, agreeing with uttāpaḥ in line

adhika-śiśire bhāṇḍīre api — even in Bhāṇḍīra, cool as it is; caṇḍima-bharaṁ — a full load of fierceness; prapannaḥ — it has taken on.
Even in Bhāṇḍīra, which is a very cool place, the burning has picked up a whole load of fierceness. The subject — the fever of separation — comes only in the fourth line; the first three lines pile up what it does.
An udāharaṇa of tāpa, 'burning', an anubhāva of separation in preyo-bhakti-rasa; the lead-in reads 'tatra tāpaḥ—'. Bhāṇḍīra is the cool banyan grove of Vraja where Kṛṣṇa played with his friends.

And even standing in the freezing water of the Yamunā, the burning only comes to full strength. Two cold places are named, and the fire wins in both.
There is a quiet joke in dinakara-sutā: the icy river is the daughter of the sun, so even a child of the sun cannot supply this heat.

Viśvanātha starts with ordinary fire. Step into a cool place and the heat of fire lets you alone. But the heat born of separation from you is of some other kind altogether — take it somewhere cool and it works harder. That is what the verse is saying, he adds, and then reads the words: even in cool Bhāṇḍīra it built up its fierceness, and it did so in order to burn; and in the same way it came to full strength in the icy Yamunā current, again in order to burn. Note the small addition he makes twice — jvalanārtham, 'so as to burn'. The cold does not resist the fever; the fever uses the cold.

ata evāpūrvas ava viraha-janmā tāpaḥ, bhāṇḍīrādīnāṁ śrī-kṛṣṇena saha vihāra-smārakatvena tatrāgatānāṁ subalādīnāṁ jvālātiśayaḥ jāyata iti bhāvaḥ ||
ata evafor just this reason — because it grows where fire would dieइसीलिए
apūrvaḥunlike anything before — he is fixing the verse's word apūrvaḥ onto uttāpaḥअपूर्व है
ava viraha-janmā tāpaḥthe heat born of separation from you printed 'ava'; read tava, as in the verseआपके विरह से जन्मा ताप; छपा हुआ रूप 'अव' है, पढ़ना चाहिए 'तव', जैसा श्लोक में है
bhāṇḍīra-ādīnāṁof Bhāṇḍīra and the other such placesभाण्डीर आदि स्थानों का
śrī-kṛṣṇena saha vihāra-smārakatvenabecause they bring back the memory of playing together with Śrī Kṛṣṇa instrumental of cause — this is his real explanation of why cool places burn hotterक्योंकि वे श्रीकृष्ण के साथ की गई क्रीड़ा की याद दिलाते हैं — तृतीया कारण बताती है; शीतल स्थान अधिक क्यों जलाते हैं, इसका असली उत्तर यही है
tatra āgatānāṁ subalādīnāṁfor Subala and the rest, who have come to those very placesवहाँ आए हुए सुबल आदि सखाओं को
iti bhāvaḥthat is what he meansयही भाव है
ata eva — for just this reason; ava (tava) viraha-janmā tāpaḥ — the heat born of separation from you; apūrvaḥ — is unlike anything before; bhāṇḍīra-ādīnāṁ śrī-kṛṣṇena saha vihāra-smārakatvena — because Bhāṇḍīra and such places bring back the memory of play with Śrī Kṛṣṇa; tatra āgatānāṁ subalādīnāṁ — for Subala and the others who have come there; jvālā-atiśayaḥ jāyate — a greater blaze arises; iti bhāvaḥ — that is the sense.
So this is why the heat of separation from you is called unprecedented. And Viśvanātha now says why the cool places make it worse: Bhāṇḍīra and the rest are the very spots where they played with Kṛṣṇa. Subala and his friends walk into those places, the memory comes back, and the blaze grows. The cool grove is not a refuge — it is a reminder. That, he says, is the point of the verse.
