augryam — उग्रता; trāsam — त्रास; tathā — और; ālasyam — आलस्य; varjayitvā — इन तीनों को छोड़कर; akhilāḥ pare — बाकी सब
Three of the passing moods are struck off here: fierceness, alarm, and laziness. Everything else in the list stays.
उग्रता, त्रास और आलस्य — ये तीन निकाल दीजिए। इनके सिवा जो बचते हैं, वे सब चलते हैं।
The vyabhicārī-bhāvas are the thirty-three passing moods that come and go over the steady bhāva. Rūpa is not adding new ones for friendship; he is subtracting from the standard list.

Those who know these feelings say that all the rest count as the passing moods in the rasa of friendship. So the ruling is not Rūpa's private opinion; he reports the settled view.
यह नियम प्रेय-रस के लिए है। भाव के जानकारों ने इसी रूप में व्यभिचारी भावों को गिनाया है।

tatra — उसमें; ayoge — अयोग में; madam — मद; harṣam — हर्ष; garvam — गर्व; nidrām — निद्रा; dhṛtim — धृति; vinā — इनको छोड़कर
Now he splits the set further. In separation, five more drop out: intoxication, elation, pride, sleep, and contentment. None of them fit a friend who is missing Kṛṣṇa.
उसी में, अयोग की दशा में और भी कटौती है। मद, हर्ष, गर्व, निद्रा और धृति — ये पाँच भी नहीं रहते।
These five are cut on top of the three of L1 — the exclusions stack, they do not replace each other.
ये पाँच पहली पंक्ति के तीन के ऊपर और कटते हैं। कटौतियाँ जुड़ती जाती हैं, एक-दूसरे की जगह नहीं लेतीं।

yoge — योग में; mṛtim — मृति; klamam — क्लम; vyādhim — व्याधि; vinā — इनके बिना; apasmṛti-dīnate — अपस्मृति और दीनता
In meeting, another five drop out: the feeling of dying, exhaustion, sickness, blanking out, and wretchedness. A friend who has Kṛṣṇa in front of him does not feel any of these.
और योग की दशा में मृति, क्लम, व्याधि नहीं रहते। इनके साथ अपस्मृति और दीनता भी छूट जाती हैं।
vinā carries over the whole line: the three accusatives and then the dual compound apasmṛti-dīnate are all governed by it.
'विना' पूरी पंक्ति पर चलता है — तीनों कर्म-पद और उसके बाद का द्विवचन समास 'अपस्मृति-दीनते', सब उसी के अधीन हैं।

augryam — उग्रता; atra — यहाँ; kevala-kṛṣṇa-viṣayaṁ — केवल कृष्ण को विषय बनाने वाली
Jīva narrows the exclusion. What is banned is fierceness directed at Kṛṣṇa. Fierceness aimed elsewhere is not what the verse is throwing out.
जीव गोस्वामी कहते हैं — यहाँ उग्रता का अर्थ है वह उग्रता जो केवल कृष्ण पर ही जाए। सखा की उग्रता किसी और पर हो, तो वह इस निषेध में नहीं आती।

Same narrowing for the other two. The alarm ruled out is alarm caused by Kṛṣṇa himself; the laziness ruled out is slackness about doing what pleases him. That is all 'leaving out' means. Where some other cause brings these moods on, Rūpa has in fact described them, each in its own place.
इसी तरह वह त्रास छूटता है जिसका कारण कृष्ण ही हों, और वह आलस्य जो उनकी सेवा में ही आ जाए। 'छोड़कर' का यही अभिप्राय है। पर जहाँ कोई और निमित्त बना हो, वहाँ रूप गोस्वामी ने इन भावों का वर्णन किया ही है।
upādhi here is the plain grammarian-and-Vedāntin sense of a limiting or occasioning condition — at home it names what makes something appear a certain way; here it names the outside cause that lets fierceness, alarm, or laziness legitimately arise in a friend.
'उपाधि' यहाँ वैयाकरणों और वेदान्तियों वाले सीधे अर्थ में है — सीमा बाँधने वाला या निमित्त बनने वाला कारण। अपने घर के प्रयोग में वह बताता है कि कोई वस्तु किस रूप में दिखाई दे रही है; यहाँ वह उस बाहरी कारण का नाम है जिससे सखा में उग्रता, त्रास या आलस्य उचित रूप से उठ सकते हैं।

Alarm the same way: only alarm whose object is Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
त्रास के साथ भी यही बात है। वही त्रास छूटता है जिसका विषय केवल श्रीकृष्ण हों।
Where Jīva made the alarm 'caused by him' (kevala-tad-dhetukam), Viśvanātha makes it 'having him as object' (śrī-kṛṣṇa-viṣayakam). Cause and object are not the same handle; the two readings are left standing side by side.
जीव गोस्वामी ने त्रास को 'केवल-तद्-हेतुकम्' कहकर उनके कारण से होने वाला बताया था; विश्वनाथ 'श्रीकृष्ण-विषयकम्' कहकर उन्हें उसका विषय बनाते हैं। कारण और विषय — ये दो अलग पकड़ हैं, और दोनों पाठ यहाँ साथ-साथ खड़े रहने दिए गए हैं।

vivaśāṅgatvaṁand 'having limbs out of control' meansअंगों का वश में न रहना

gīrṣu — when it comes to speech; skhalat-padatvam — 'stumbling pada'; padāvasānasya aśakya-nirṇayatvam — is not being able to make out where a word ends; vivaśāṅgatvam — 'limbs out of control'; akṣarāvasānasya [aśakya-nirṇayatvam] — is not being able to make out where a syllable ends
gīrṣu — वाणी में; skhalat-padatvaṁ — पदों का लड़खड़ाना; padāvasānasya aśakya-nirṇayatvaṁ — पद के अन्त का निर्णय न हो सकना; vivaśāṅgatvaṁ — अंगों का विवश होना; akṣarāvasānasya iti — अक्षर के अन्त का (निर्णय न हो सकना), इतना ही
Two symptoms are being read off onto speech. 'Stumbling pada' — you cannot tell where one word stops. 'Limbs out of control' — it gets worse: you cannot even tell where one syllable stops. The second is the heavier stage of the same slurring.
बोलने में 'पदों का लड़खड़ाना' यह है कि पद कहाँ खत्म हुआ, पकड़ में न आए। और 'अंगों का विवश होना' यह है कि अक्षर कहाँ पूरा हुआ, वह भी पकड़ में न आए।
This turns on a śleṣa in pada, which is both 'foot' and 'word'. In the body, skhalat-padatva is a drunk man's stumbling feet; transferred to speech it is words that will not stand up straight. vivaśāṅgatva works the same way — limbs that will not obey become syllables that will not finish.
यहाँ 'पद' के श्लेष पर सारी बात टिकी है — 'पद' पाँव भी है और शब्द भी। देह में 'स्खलत्-पदत्व' मतवाले के लड़खड़ाते पाँव हैं; वाणी पर उतरकर वही सीधे न खड़े होने वाले शब्द बन जाता है। 'विवशाङ्गत्व' भी इसी ढंग से चलता है — न मानने वाले अंग वहाँ पूरे न होने वाले अक्षर बन जाते हैं।
