aghahara jitakāśī yuddha-kaṇḍūla-bāhus
aghaharaO Aghahara — you who killed Agha vocative; the friend opens by naming the great feat, and the whole verse then teases that reputationहे अघहर! — सम्बोधन; सखा पहले उसी बड़े पराक्रम का नाम लेकर पुकारता है, अघासुर को मारनेवाले
jitakāśīyou go about with the look of a winner the word both commentators stop over — Jīva takes it from Kṣīrasvāmī, Viśvanātha spells it out as 'I alone won'जो जीत का ठाट दिखाता फिरता है, अपनी विजय का अभिमानी
yuddha-kaṇḍūla-bāhusyour arms itch for a fight bahuvrīhi — 'he whose arms have an itch for battle'; kaṇḍūla is literally 'itchy', the arm that will not keep stillबहुव्रीहि — जिसकी भुजाओं में युद्ध की खुजली है; 'कण्डूल' अर्थात् खुजलानेवाला, वह बाँह जो चुप बैठ ही नहीं सकती
aghahara — O Aghahara; jitakāśī — flaunting victory; yuddha-kaṇḍūla-bāhuḥ — your arms itching for a fight
aghahara — हे अघहर!; jitakāśī — अपनी जीत का ठाट दिखानेवाला; yuddha-kaṇḍūla-bāhus — जिसकी भुजाओं में युद्ध की खुजली है
O Aghahara! You strut about like a winner. Your arms are itching for a fight.
सखा कृष्ण को पुकारता है — 'हे अघहर!' पहले ही उस प्रसिद्ध पराक्रम का नाम ले लिया। फिर उसी प्रतिष्ठा पर चुटकी लेता है — 'जीत का ठाट दिखानेवाले!' और तीसरा विशेषण — जिसकी भुजाओं में लड़ने की खुजली मची रहती है। तीनों सम्बोधन एक साथ प्रशंसा भी हैं और छेड़ भी।
This is the udāharaṇa for niyuddhena toṣaṇam, 'pleasing Kṛṣṇa by wrestling' — the first of the sakhya anubhāvas listed at 3.3.86, 'niyuddha-kanduka-dyūta-vāhya-vāhādi-kelibhiḥ… asya toṣaṇam'. The lead-in says exactly that: tatra niyuddhena toṣaṇaṁ, yathā. The whole speech is one cowherd friend challenging Kṛṣṇa after a wrestling bout — the equal footing is the point.

You wander through the group of friends praising your own strength.

jitakāśī jayāvaha iti kṣīra-svāmī, sva-jayābhimānīty arthaḥ ||

jayāvahameans 'one who brings victory'जय को लानेवाला, विजय दिलानेवाला
iti kṣīra-svāmīso Kṣīrasvāmī gives it iti closes the quoted lexical gloss; the name is the authority Jīva leans on— ऐसा क्षीरस्वामी कहते हैं; 'इति' से उद्धृत कोश-वचन समाप्त होता है, और नाम वही प्रमाण है जिसका जीव आश्रय लेते हैं
sva-jayābhimānīhere it is 'one who prides himself on his own victory'अपनी ही जीत का अभिमान रखनेवाला
ity arthaḥthat is the sense in this verse the standard sign-off marking the working meaning, as against the bare dictionary entry just quoted— यही यहाँ का अभिप्राय है; अभी-अभी उद्धृत कोश के अर्थ से अलग, चलता हुआ अर्थ बताने की यह पारिभाषिक समाप्ति है
jitakāśī — the word jitakāśī; jayāvaha — 'bringing victory'; iti kṣīra-svāmī — so says Kṣīrasvāmī; sva-jaya-abhimānī — one proud of his own victory; iti arthaḥ — that is the meaning here
jitakāśī — 'जितकाशी'; jayāvaha — जय दिलानेवाला; iti kṣīra-svāmī — ऐसा क्षीरस्वामी का वचन; sva-jayābhimānī — अपनी जीत का अभिमानी; ity arthaḥ — यही अभिप्राय है
Jīva takes up one word: jitakāśī. The lexicon, in Kṣīrasvāmī's wording, has it as jayāvaha, 'bringing victory'. But here, Jīva says, the sense is sva-jayābhimānī — a man puffed up over a win of his own. The dictionary word is neutral; in the friend's mouth it is a jab.
जीव गोस्वामी पहले कोश का वचन देते हैं — क्षीरस्वामी के अनुसार 'जितकाशी' का अर्थ है 'जय दिलानेवाला'। फिर वे स्वयं यहाँ का अर्थ कहते हैं — 'अपनी ही जीत का अभिमान रखनेवाला'। 'इत्यर्थः' यही बताता है कि प्रसंग में चलनेवाला अर्थ यह दूसरा है।
Kṣīrasvāmī is the lexicographer whose commentary on the Amara-koṣa is the standard authority for word-meanings; commentators cite him the way one cites a dictionary. Note that Jīva does not simply take the quoted entry over — he quotes it and then states a different working sense with ity arthaḥ.

he aghahara — O Aghahara; yasya bāhuḥ — he whose arm; yuddha-rūpa-kaṇḍūyayā yuktaḥ — is fitted with an itching in the form of fighting; tathā-bhūtatvam — being such; jitakāśī — jitakāśī, i.e.; mayā eva jitam iti jaya-abhimānī — proud with the thought 'I alone won'; ātma-parākramam stuvānaḥ san — while praising your own prowess; sakhi-goṣṭhyām aṭasi — you roam in the circle of friends
he aghahara !
Viśvanātha walks through the first two lines. yuddha-kaṇḍūla-bāhuḥ he unpacks as a bahuvrīhi: the man whose arm carries an itch, and the itch is nothing but the urge to fight. jitakāśī he fills in with the boast itself — 'I won it, I alone' — a man swollen with his victory. And so, praising his own prowess, he goes wandering through the group of friends.
Where Jīva reached for the lexicon, Viśvanātha renders jitakāśī by putting words in the boaster's mouth — mayaiva jitam. The two are left standing side by side; the eva is his addition to the sense, and it is what makes the friend's reply in the next sentence land.

Now the second half. All right — if the win is yours alone, then explain this: my club-like arms went to work, your match came to a stop, and you are standing there with no strength in your body. Viśvanātha reads niḥsahāṅgaḥ simply as durbalāṅgaḥ, weak-limbed.
अब सखा पलटकर कहता है — 'अरे भाई! यदि जीत तुम्हारी ही है, तो यह क्या?' मेरी प्रचण्ड डण्डे-जैसी भुजाओं के दाँवों से तुम्हारा अखाड़ा ही बन्द हो गया। और तुम दुर्बल शरीर लिए ऐसे ही खड़े रह गए हो। 'तवैव' कहकर वह उसी 'मयैव' की अकड़ लौटा देता है।
In the printed text the phrase stands as the abstract viramita-raṇa-raṅgatvam, 'the state of having the ring stopped', where the verse itself has the bahuvrīhi viramita-raṇa-raṅgaḥ describing 'you'. Read it as the gloss of that word: this is the condition you are in.
छपे हुए पाठ में यह पद भाववाचक 'विरमित-रण-रङ्गत्वम्' के रूप में है, अर्थात् 'अखाड़ा बन्द हो जाने की दशा', जबकि श्लोक में बहुव्रीहि 'विरमित-रण-रङ्गः' है, जो 'तुम' का विशेषण बनता है। इसे उसी शब्द की व्याख्या मानकर पढ़ें — तुम इसी दशा में खड़े हो।
