gāṇḍīva-pāṇiḥ kari-rāja-śuṇḍā-
gāṇḍīva-pāṇiḥhe holds the Gāṇḍīva bow in his hand — that is what you see first about him bahuvrīhi: 'in whose hand is Gāṇḍīva'; the bow's own name identifies the friend being describedजिसके हाथ में गाण्डीव धनुष है — बहुव्रीहि; धनुष का नाम लेकर ही उसके धारण करने वाले सखा का परिचय दे दिया गया
kari-rāja-śuṇḍā-the trunk of the king of elephants — the first half of a compound that runs on into the next line kari-rāja = 'the elephant who is king', i.e. the finest bull elephant; the comparison is completed by ramya-ūruḥ in L2हाथियों के राजा की सूँड़ — करि-राज अर्थात् गजराज, सबसे श्रेष्ठ गजपति; यह उपमा अगली पंक्ति के 'रम्योरुः' से पूरी होती है
gāṇḍīva-pāṇiḥ — with Gāṇḍīva in his hand; kari-rāja-śuṇḍā- — [and, likened to] the trunk of the king of elephants…
He stands with the Gāṇḍīva bow in his hand. Then the poet begins a comparison: the trunk of a royal elephant. The sentence is left hanging here and finishes in the next line.
The lead-in is asya rūpaṁ, yathā — 'his form, as follows'. So these four lines are the illustration of the friend's own form, the thing that stirs the mood of sakhya. Gāṇḍīva is the name of one particular bow, so naming the bow names its bearer.

ramyorur indīvara-sundarābhaḥ |
-ramya-uruḥhis thighs are lovely — full and tapering like that elephant's trunk closes the compound begun in L1; bahuvrīhi 'whose thighs are lovely [like] the trunk of the king of elephants'जिसकी जाँघें सुन्दर हैं — यह पहली पंक्ति में आरम्भ हुए समास को पूरा करता है; बहुव्रीहि, अर्थात् 'जिसकी जाँघें गजराज की सूँड़ के समान रमणीय हैं'
indīvara-sundara-ābhaḥhis glow is as beautiful as a blue lotus — a dark, cool, shining colour bahuvrīhi: 'whose ābhā (sheen) is beautiful as the indīvara'; indīvara is the blue lotus, standard image for a dark-blue lustreजिसकी आभा इन्दीवर के समान सुन्दर है — बहुव्रीहि; इन्दीवर नील कमल है, और वही नीली-श्याम कान्ति का प्रसिद्ध उपमान है
kari-rāja-śuṇḍā-ramya-uruḥ — whose thighs are lovely like a royal elephant's trunk; indīvara-sundara-ābhaḥ — whose glow is beautiful as a blue lotus
His thighs are lovely — the poet compares them to the trunk of a royal elephant. And his whole body glows with the beauty of a blue lotus.
The two images work together: the elephant's trunk gives the strength and the taper of the limbs, the blue lotus gives the colour and the softness of the sheen.

rathāṅginā ratna-rathādhirohī
rathāṅginātogether with the one who carries the discus instrumental of accompaniment ('with'); rathāṅga literally means 'the wheel', a name for the cakra, so rathāṅgī is 'the wheel-holder' — Viśvanātha names him as Śrī Kṛṣṇa…
ratna-ratha-adhirohīhe rides up onto a chariot made of jewels agent noun in -in: 'one who mounts'; adhi-ruh = to climb up ontoजो रत्नमय रथ पर चढ़ा हुआ है — 'इन्' प्रत्ययान्त कर्तृवाचक पद; अधि-रुह् अर्थात् ऊपर चढ़ना
rathāṅginā [saha] — together with the discus-bearer; ratna-ratha-adhirohī — mounting a jewelled chariot
He climbs up onto a chariot made of jewels. And he is not alone: the discus-bearer is on it with him.
There is a quiet play on the word: rathāṅga is 'the wheel of a chariot' and also the name of the discus. So the wheel-holder is standing on the chariot — the friend rides with him, side by side, which is exactly the closeness sakhya-rasa is illustrating.

His eyes are reddish. And there, on that chariot, he shone out beyond everything.
The whole verse has been one long description with no finite verb until this last word. arājīt lands it: everything described was building to how he shone.

An editorial notice, not an interpretation: it records that this verse is left uncommented in Jīva's Durgama-saṅgamanī, so nothing should be read into his silence.

ratna-nirmita-ratha-ārūḍhaḥhe has mounted a chariot built of jewels he unpacks ratna-ratha as ratna-nirmita, 'made of jewels' — the jewels are the chariot's material, not cargo on itरत्नों से बने रथ पर चढ़ा हुआ — वे 'रत्न-रथ' को 'रत्न-निर्मित' करके खोलते हैं, अर्थात् रत्न रथ की सामग्री हैं, उस पर लदा हुआ माल नहीं
karirāja-śuṇḍā iva ramyam uru-sthalaṁ yasya — he whose thigh-region is lovely like a royal elephant's trunk; rathāṅginā śrī-kṛṣṇena saha — together with the discus-bearer, Śrī Kṛṣṇa; ratna-nirmita-ratha-ārūḍhaḥ — mounted on a chariot made of jewels
Viśvanātha does two things. First he opens the packed compound: read it as 'his thigh-region is lovely, like the trunk of the king of elephants' — the phrase describes the man, and it is a comparison. Then he settles who is on the chariot with him: rathāṅgī, the one who holds the discus, is Śrī Kṛṣṇa. And the chariot is not merely jewelled; it is made of jewels.
