The passions — lust, anger, greed and their crew — how many of their wicked orders did I NOT obey? And in how many different ways? There is no counting them; I did whatever they told me.
The opening line of an udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) for aparādha-bhañjana, 'the atoning-away of offenses', the topic named in the lead-in (yathā vā, aparādha-bhañjane—). The verse is spoken in the voice of a surrendering devotee pleading with Kṛṣṇa; the confession here sets up the surrender in L3-L4.

And in those masters not a drop of pity for me ever stirred. No shame at how they used me. No easing off. They drove me on and never once let up.
