L1objection
ratiḥ sthitānukāryeṣu laukikatvādi-hetubhiḥ |
ratiḥthe love (rati) [in question] nominative subject; the topic of the whole objectionरति (कर्ता; यही सम्पूर्ण आक्षेप का विषय)
sthita-anukāryeṣuas it sits in the characters being imitated locative; the depicted heroes (Nala etc.) on stage or in the poemनाटक या काव्य में स्थित अनुकार्य पात्रों (नल आदि) में
laukikatva-ādi-hetubhiḥbecause of the reasons — its being worldly, and so on instrumental of cause; -ādi covers the further grounds Jīva will list (finitude, real fear)लौकिकता आदि कारणों के द्वारा
sthita-anukāryeṣu — in the imitated characters; ratiḥ — the love; laukikatva-ādi-hetubhiḥ — because of worldliness and the other grounds; [rasaḥ na syāt — does not become rasa]
Take the love shown in imitated stage-characters like Nala. Does it turn into rasa? The objectors say no — because that love is worldly, and for other reasons too.
This is the author himself stating the dramaturgists' (nāṭya-jña) view, to grant part of it in the next line.

rasaḥ syān neti nāṭya-jñā yad āhur yuktam eva tat ||
rasaḥ syāt nadoes not become rasa syāt = potential 'would/could'; na negates — the objectors' thesisरस नहीं हो सकता ('स्यात्' = 'हो सकता'; 'न' निषेध करता है — यह आक्षेपकर्ताओं का पक्ष)

nāṭya-jñāḥthe experts in drama (nāṭya-jña)नाट्यविशारद
yat āhuḥwhat they say yat … tat correlative; the relative clauseजो कहते हैं (यत्…
yuktam eva tatthat is exactly right eva = 'exactly / just so' — a full endorsement, not a grudging oneवह ठीक ही है ('एव' = 'ठीक वैसा ही' — पूर्ण स्वीकृति, न कि अनिच्छापूर्वक)
ratiḥ rasaḥ na syāt iti — that the love does not become rasa; nāṭya-jñāḥ yat āhuḥ — what the drama-experts say; tat — that; yuktam eva — is exactly right
"…does not become rasa" — so say the experts in drama. And what they say, says Rūpa, is exactly right. He grants their point outright — with a reservation the commentary will draw out.
The endorsement is real but partial: Jīva and Viśvanātha both read it as granting the case for worldly heroes while denying that transcendent figures like Rāma and Sītā fall under the same rule (see s11).

Having already settled how rasa works for those who taste it inwardly, Rūpa now turns to those who taste it directly. He opens by conceding the opponent's point first — a standard debating move — and so raises the objectors' view with the word 'ratiḥ'.
abhyupagama-vāda: granting the opponent's thesis for the sake of argument, then showing how far it really reaches.

nāṭya-jñā ity upalakṣaṇaṁ kārya-mātra-jñānām |
upalakṣaṇamis a pointer-term standing for more than it names upalakṣaṇa: names one thing to indicate a wider classउपलक्षण है (उपलक्षण: एक को नामकर व्यापक वर्ग का संकेत करना)
kārya-mātra-jñānāmnamely, of all who know only the effect [not the cause] genitive; the wider class the pointer coversकेवल कार्य को जानने वालों का (षष्ठी; वही व्यापक वर्ग जिसका यह संकेत है)
nāṭya-jñāḥ iti — the word 'drama-experts'; upalakṣaṇam — is a pointer-term; kārya-mātra-jñānām — for all who know only the finished effect
"Drama-experts" is not meant narrowly. It is a pointer-word: it names the dramatists but stands for everyone who grasps only the finished product and not its real cause.
upalakṣaṇa vs viśeṣaṇa: a viśeṣaṇa is part of what a thing is (a 'blue' lotus); an upalakṣaṇa merely helps you locate it (the house 'with the crow on it' — the crow is not part of the house). Here 'nāṭya-jña' only points to the wider group of effect-only knowers; it is not a defining trait of them.

The comment marked as Śrī Mukunda's reads the verse's purpose this way. Rūpa wants to show that the love of devotees fixed on Kṛṣṇa gives supreme joy even in separation. To set that off, he grants — with 'ratiḥ…' — the dramatists' verdict that love resting on merely worldly objects is not rasa.
