tau dṛṣṭvā vikasad-vaktra-sarojaḥ sa mahāmatiḥ |
tau dṛṣṭvāhaving seen the two he longed to see tau = accusative dual, the pair he had come yearning to seeउन दोनों को देखकर — जिन दोनों को देखने की लालसा से वह आया था (द्वितीया द्विवचन)
vikasad-vaktra-sarojaḥhis lotus-face bursting into bloom bahuvrīhi describing sa — 'the one whose face-lotus was blooming'जिसका मुखरूपी कमल खिल उठा — ऐसा वह (बहुव्रीहि, 'सा' का विशेषण)
sa mahāmatiḥ — that great-minded one; tau dṛṣṭvā — on seeing the two he longed for; vikasad-vaktra-sarojaḥ — his lotus-face bursting into bloom.
The moment that great-souled man saw the two he had longed to see, his face opened up like a lotus in flower.
An udāharaṇa in the vyabhicāri (caturtha) laharī, illustrating harṣa (joy) welling up through abhīṣṭa-īkṣaṇa, 'seeing the longed-for one' (the lead-in: tatra abhīṣṭekṣaṇena). Quoted from Viṣṇu Purāṇa 5.17.25; the note na kenāpi vyākhyātam records that no commentator glosses it. In the Viṣṇu Purāṇa setting the 'two' are Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, whom Akrūra (named in L2) had come to see.

mune — O sage; tadā — then; akrūraḥ — Akrūra; pulakāñcita-sarvāṅgaḥ abhavat — became one whose every limb was studded with thrilled, bristling hair.
And at that sight, O sage, Akrūra's hair stood on end all over his body. These bodily signs — the face blooming, the horripilation — are the anubhāvas that display the joy.
mune addresses Maitreya, to whom Parāśara narrates the Viṣṇu Purāṇa; the vocative fixes the verse in its Purāṇic frame. Akrūra is named here in the source verse itself, which is why the speaker (Kṛṣṇa/Balarāma as the longed-for pair) can be identified from the Viṣṇu Purāṇa context.
