asya — for this devotee; anyatra ātma-paryante — as to everything else, right up to his own self; sarvatra eva — everywhere without exception; mūḍhatā — a blank stupefaction; syāt — there would be.
asya — इसकी; anyatra ātma-paryante — आत्मा-पर्यन्त सब अन्य विषयों में; sarvatra eva — सर्वत्र ही; syāt — हो जाए; mūḍhatā — मूढ़ता।
For a devotee in moha, everything blanks out. The stupefaction spreads to all things, right up to his own self.
इस मोह-प्राप्त पुरुष की मूढ़ता सब जगह छा जाती है। यहाँ तक कि अपने आत्मस्वरूप के बोध तक — कहीं भी वह बची नहीं रहती।
This verse refines the moha defined earlier at 2.4.93 (hṛn-mūḍhatā, 'stupefaction of the heart'): it states just how far the blanking reaches, and — in L2 — the one thing it never touches.
यह श्लोक पहले (२.४.९३ में) कहे गए मोह को — जिसे वहाँ हृन्मूढता, अर्थात् हृदय की मूढ़ता कहा था — और स्पष्ट करता है। यह बताता है कि वह लोप कहाँ तक पहुँचता है, और L2 में यह भी कि किस एक वस्तु को वह कभी नहीं छूता।

Jīva unpacks the bare 'asya': it means this devotee of Bhagavān who has slipped into moha. Then he quotes the verse's key phrase — 'but the special flashing-up of Kṛṣṇa' — as the thing to be explained.
मूल श्लोक में "कृष्ण-स्फूर्ति-विशेष तु" जो कहा है, वह इस मोह-प्राप्त भगवद्भक्त के विषय में है।

Here is why that flashing never dissolves. Kṛṣṇa is the very support of the devotee's emotions. Take Him away and the emotions themselves collapse — so His presence cannot be the thing that goes.
भाव अपने आश्रय कृष्ण के बिना टिक ही नहीं सकते। इसीलिए कृष्ण-स्फूर्ति कभी लीन नहीं होती — क्योंकि वही तो सब भावों का आधार है।

tathā ca uktaṁ — और वैसा ही कहा गया; tat-smārita-ananta-hṛta-akhila-indriyaḥ iti — "उसके स्मरण से हरी गई समस्त इन्द्रियों वाला" इति।
Jīva backs this with scripture: 'his every sense was carried off by the endless Lord he had been made to remember.' Even the total loss of the senses happens through Kṛṣṇa — so it is His presence that governs, never dissolving.
इसी बात के समर्थन में शास्त्र-वचन है — जिसकी सारी इन्द्रियाँ, अनन्त कृष्ण के स्मरण करा देने से ही, हर ली गईं।
Why cited: Adduced in support of s2: the senses/emotions are wholly governed by Kṛṣṇa their support — even their total blanking comes through remembrance of Him — so the Kṛṣṇa-flashing is never what dissolves in moha.
क्यों उद्धृत: यह वचन s2 के समर्थन में लाया गया है — इन्द्रियाँ और भाव अपने आश्रय कृष्ण के ही अधीन हैं; उनका पूर्ण लोप भी कृष्ण के स्मरण से ही होता है, अतः मोह में लीन होने वाली वस्तु कृष्ण-स्फूर्ति कभी नहीं होती।

Jīva now separates two look-alike states. In pralaya (collapse) it is mainly the outer faculties that shut down. In moha it is mainly the inner faculties. That is the dividing line between them.
प्रलय में मुख्य रूप से बाहरी वृत्तियों का लोप होता है। परन्तु मोह में मुख्य रूप से भीतरी वृत्तियों का लोप होता है — यही दोनों का भेद है।

ata eva — इसीलिए; mohaḥ hṛn-mūḍhatā iti atra — "मोह हृन्मूढता" इस (लक्षण) में; hṛc-chabdaḥ dattaḥ — "हृत्" शब्द दिया गया।
This, Jīva says, is why the earlier definition worded it as 'stupefaction of the HEART.' The word 'heart' is there on purpose — it points to the inner faculties, marking moha off from mere outer collapse.
इसी कारण पहले के लक्षण में "मोह हृदय की मूढ़ता है" कहते हुए "हृत्" शब्द जोड़ा गया — क्योंकि मोह भीतरी वृत्तियों का लोप है।

muh vaicittye iti dhātu-balād eva — "मुह् वैचित्त्ये" इस धातु के बल से ही; tad-arthatā-siddheḥ — उस अर्थ की सिद्धि के कारण।
And the point stands on the root itself. The verb 'muh' means vaicittya — a confusion of the mind, something inner. So moha's inner-faculty sense is proven straight from the grammar, not just asserted.
"मुह्" धातु का ही अर्थ चित्त की विकलता है। इसी धातु के बल से वह भीतरी लोप वाला अर्थ अपने आप सिद्ध हो जाता है।
