Viśvanātha reads it out plainly. Questioned in this way by King Parīkṣit, Śuka — Bādarāyaṇa's son — had the Lord Ananta called back to his mind by the question itself, and with that all his senses were swept away. Then, roused again by the loud chanting of the Lord's names by Vyāsa, Nārada and the others, he came back to outward awareness and spoke to the king. Note that Viśvanātha names who did the chanting — Vyāsa and Nārada — which the mūla only implies.
