She folds her hands and bows even to the animals, thinking 'these must be snake-charmers who can help.' She is utterly beside herself.
"ये तो मंत्रवादी हैं" — ऐसा सोचकर वह हाथ जोड़े पशुओं को भी प्रणाम करती है। बस, इतनी विह्वल हो उठी है।
An udāharaṇa of āpad ('calamity, distress'), a vyabhicāri-bhāva of the Dakṣiṇa-vibhāga (2.4); the illustrative verse gives Yaśodā's distress when Kṛṣṇa entered Kāliya's lake.

The second appeal — asking the trees as physicians — is aimed at destroying the poison. So Jīva sorts her two requests: the first to break the serpent's strength, the second to kill its venom.
और बादवालों (वृक्षों) से जो प्रश्न है, वह उस विष के नाश के लिए है — ऐसा जानना चाहिए।
