svīya-caurya-aparādha-ādeḥ — from one's own theft, offense, and the like; para-kraurya-āditaḥ tathā — and likewise from another's cruelty and the like; yat sva-aniṣṭa-utprekṣaṇam — whatever imagining of something unwelcome to oneself [arises]; sā tu śaṅkā iti abhidhīyate — that, precisely, is called śaṅkā.
Sometimes you imagine that something bad is about to happen to you. That imagining is what we call śaṅkā, anxiety. It springs from two kinds of cause. One is your own doing — a theft you committed, some offense, and the like. The other is what someone else might do — their cruelty and so on. Either way, the mind pictures an unwelcome outcome, and that picturing is śaṅkā.
The lakṣaṇa (definition) of śaṅkā, one of the vyabhicāri-bhāvas (transient moods) treated in this fourth laharī. The two named causes — one's own fault, another's threatened harm — set up the two directions the anxiety can come from.

atra — in this state; āsya-śoṣa-vaivarṇya-dik-prekṣā-līnatā-ādayaḥ — dry mouth, pallor, looking about in all directions, shrinking into oneself, and the like [are its outward signs].
And here are the outward signs of śaṅkā. The mouth goes dry. The face turns pale. The person keeps glancing around in every direction. They shrink into themselves. The list is left open — these and others like them.
These are the anubhāvas (bodily expressions) of śaṅkā; -ādi keeps the list open rather than exhaustive.

An editorial marker, not a gloss: it records that the included commentators Jīva and Viśvanātha pass over this verse without explanation.
