sukha-duḥkhābhyāṁbrought on by joy or by sorrow instrumental of cause — either extreme can trigger itक्योंकि सुख और दुःख — दोनों ही — इसे उत्पन्न कर सकते हैं
ceṣṭā-jñāna-nirākṛtiḥis the shutting-down of both movement and awarenessजिसमें चेष्टा और ज्ञान का लोप हो जाता है
pralayaḥ — pralaya is; sukha-duḥkhābhyāṁ — brought on by joy or sorrow; ceṣṭā-jñāna-nirākṛtiḥ — the shutting-down of activity and awareness.

Pralaya, devastation, is what happens when either intense joy or intense sorrow shuts down both the body's movement and the mind's awareness. The limbs stop acting and the person loses consciousness of everything around.

atrahere, in this definitionयहाँ (इस लक्षण में)
ālambana-eka-līna-manastvammeans the mind being absorbed in the ālambana (the beloved object) and nothing else eka = "solely" — the mind sinks into that one object aloneमन का केवल एक आलम्बन में ही लीन हो जाना
atra — here; jñāna-nirākṛtiḥ — "the shutting-down of awareness"; ālambana-eka-līna-manastvam — [means] the mind being absorbed solely in the ālambana.
Jīva clarifies what "shutting-down of awareness" means. It is not blank unconsciousness. The mind has sunk so completely into the one beloved object, the ālambana, that it registers nothing else. So awareness of the world stops precisely because awareness of the beloved is total.

sukha-duḥkhābhyāṁ — out of joy or sorrow; pralayaḥ — pralaya; jātaḥ — has arisen.
Viśvanātha reads the verse straight: pralaya is what has arisen out of joy or out of sorrow. He takes the instrumental as "the cause from which it comes."

yataḥ — because it is; ceṣṭā-jñānādeḥ — of movement, awareness, and the rest; nirākaraṇam — the removal.
And Viśvanātha explains why the name fits: because it is the removal of movement, awareness, and so on. Everything the body and mind normally do is wiped out, so the state earns the name pralaya, dissolution.
