An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse, SB 10.60.23) for sāttvika-bhāva arising through viṣāda, 'despondency' — the cause named in the lead-in. Rukmiṇī, stung by Kṛṣṇa's teasing words, shows the bodily signs: falling tears and a voice choked with grief.

padā sujātena iti atrahere, in the verse beginning 'padā sujātena''पदा सुजातेन' — इस (श्लोक) में
rukmiṇī iti śeṣaḥsupply the word 'Rukmiṇī' — she is the unnamed subject who does all this śeṣaḥ = 'what is to be supplied'; the verse never names her, so Jīva fills in the ellipsis'रुक्मिणी' — यह शेष (अध्याहार से जोड़ने योग्य पद) है
padā sujātena iti atra — here in 'padā sujātena'; rukmiṇī iti śeṣaḥ — 'Rukmiṇī' is the word to be supplied.
The verse never says who is doing all this. Jīva tells us: supply 'Rukmiṇī' — she is the one scratching the ground and weeping.
