cedīśa-vadhaṁthe slaying of the Cedi-lord (Śiśupāla)चेदिराज (शिशुपाल) के वध को
vidhitsoḥof [him] longing to bring it about desiderative genitive — reads either as 'of Bhīma, who wants to kill' (in apposition to the face) or as a scene-setting 'when Bhīma wanted to kill'मारने की इच्छा रखने वाले (भीम) का — अथवा 'जब भीम मारना चाहता था' इस रूप में दृश्य-सूचक
bhīmasya — of Bhīma; cedīśa-vadhaṁ vidhitsoḥ — longing to slay the Cedi-lord Śiśupāla.
Bhīma is burning to kill Śiśupāla, the lord of the Cedis. The verse freezes that moment; the next lines describe a face that 'shone' in it.
First line of an udāharaṇa in the sāttvika-laharī (2.3): the illustrated signs are the sāttvika marks of tears (aśru) and a rage-flushed, altered face. The genitive 'bhīmasya… vidhitsoḥ' is read two ways downstream — Jīva takes the shining face as Bhīma's own (c1.s1), Viśvanātha as Śiśupāla's (c3.s1). The mūla itself leaves whose face it is open.

The face shone — running with tears and flushed red with anger.

indu-bimbam — the moon's disc; sāndhya-tviṣā grastam iva — as if swallowed up by the red glow of twilight.
— like the disc of the moon seemingly swallowed in the red glow of dusk. The mapping: the face is the moon-orb, its water-drops and tears are the moon's watery sheen, and the rage-redness is the twilight's red that overtakes it.

bimba-śabdenaby the word 'bimba' (orb, full disc)'बिम्ब' शब्द के द्वारा
pūrṇatvaṁ bodhyatefullness is what is being conveyedपूर्णता का बोध कराया जाता है
bhīmasya mukhaṁ reje udyad-indu-bimbam iva iti — the verse means 'Bhīma's face shone like a rising moon-disc'; bimba-śabdena pūrṇatvaṁ bodhyate — and by the word 'bimba' fullness is conveyed.
Jīva construes the verse plainly: Bhīma's face shone like a rising moon-orb. Then he catches the word choice — bimba, 'orb, full disc,' is used to signal fullness: a complete round face, the full moon, not a thin sliver. For Jīva the face is Bhīma's own.
bimba = the full round disc; Jīva reads the poet's choice of it as deliberately marking pūrṇatva, the roundness/fullness of the moon and so of the face.

A text-critical note: Jīva does not accept the variant readings of this verse. Read it as he has given it, not by the alternatives in circulation.

cedīśasya śiśupālasyaof the Cedi-lord — that is, of Śiśupāla genitive naming whose face it is — Viśvanātha assigns the face to Śiśupāla, not Bhīmaचेदिराज शिशुपाल का

candra-bimbam ivalike the disc of the moonचन्द्रबिम्ब के समान
cedīśasya śiśupālasya [mukham] — Śiśupāla's face; sandhyā-kālīna-tuṣāra-grastaṁ candra-bimbam iva — like the moon-disc gripped by the mist of the twilight hour.
Viśvanātha reads the face as Śiśupāla's, the Cedi-king's — not Bhīma's. For him the moon-disc is Śiśupāla's face, and what 'swallows' it is the frost/haze of the twilight hour: he glosses the verse's sāndhya-tviṣ as the cold mist of dusk. Set this squarely against Jīva — same simile, opposite owner of the face; the two are left unreconciled.
Where the mūla says sāndhya-tviṣā, 'twilight glow,' Viśvanātha supplies sandhyā-kālīna-tuṣāra, 'the frost/mist of the twilight hour,' as what grips the moon. And he fixes the face as Śiśupāla's — the reverse of Jīva's Bhīma.
