kaṁsa-śatrum abhiyuñjataḥ puro
kaṁsa-śatrumKṛṣṇa, the enemy of Kaṁsa — the one they were charging atकंस के शत्रु (कृष्ण) को
abhiyuñjataḥwho were attacking, closing in for the fight accusative plural present participle — it modifies the plural "Kaṁsa's brothers" in L2, not the singular Kṛṣṇa it stands next toआक्रमण करते हुओं को — यह द्वितीया-बहुवचन कृदन्त L2 के कंस-भाइयों का विशेषण है, न कि पास खड़े एकवचन कृष्ण का

kaṁsa-śatrum — कंस के शत्रु कृष्ण को; abhiyuñjataḥ — (जो) सामने से आक्रमण कर रहे थे उन (भाइयों) को; puraḥ — सामने
O friend — right in front, they were charging straight at Kṛṣṇa, the killer of Kaṁsa. The ones charging are Kaṁsa's own brothers, named in the next line.
कंस के शत्रु कृष्ण पर सामने से आक्रमण करते हुए (कंस के भाइयों) को —
An udāharaṇa of vaivarṇya — the loss of color, one of the eight sāttvika-bhāvas of this third laharī — here arising from roṣa (anger), per the lead-in "roṣād, yathā—". Balarāma's face goes moon-pale with rage, spelled out in L4 and glossed by Viśvanātha.
यह वैवर्ण्य का एक उदाहरण है — रंग का उड़ जाना, इस तृतीय लहरी के आठ सात्त्विक-भावों में से एक — जो यहाँ 'रोषाद्, यथा—' इस भूमिका के अनुसार रोष (क्रोध) से उत्पन्न होता है। बलराम का मुख क्रोध से चन्द्रमा-सा पीला पड़ जाता है, जिसे L4 में खोला गया है और विश्वनाथ ने समझाया है।

yuddhārthamfor the sake of battleयुद्ध के लिए
ābhimukhyena milataḥcoming at [him] head-on, meeting [him] face to face ābhimukhyena is instrumental of manner — "in a head-on way"; milataḥ, accusative plural, keeps the plural reference to the brothersसामने से भिड़ते हुओं को — 'आभिमुख्येन' रीति की तृतीया है ('सम्मुख होकर'), और 'मिलतः' द्वितीया-बहुवचन भाइयों की ओर संकेत रखता है

tasya ity atra paśya iti pāṭhas tyaktaḥin place of "tasya" here, the variant reading "paśya" has been set asideयहाँ 'तस्य' के स्थान पर 'पश्य' पाठ त्याग दिया गया है
abhiyuñjataḥ — yuddhārtham ābhimukhyena milataḥ; kaṁsa-sahajān — kaṅka-nyagrodhādīn; tasya-ity-atra paśya-iti pāṭhaḥ tyaktaḥ — for "tasya" the reading "paśya" is dropped
Jīva reads "attacking" (abhiyuñjataḥ) as "closing in head-on for a fight." "Kaṁsa's brothers" he names: Kaṅka, Nyagrodha, and the others. Then a textual note — where the verse has "tasya" (his), some manuscripts read "paśya" (look!); that reading is set aside.
'अभियुञ्जतः' अर्थात् युद्ध के लिए सम्मुख होकर भिड़ते हुए, कंस के भाइयों — कंक, न्यग्रोध आदि — को। 'तस्य' के स्थान पर जो 'पश्य' पाठ है, वह यहाँ छोड़ दिया गया है।
A textual-variant note: Jīva registers "paśya" ("look!", an imperative to the friend) as a rejected reading against the accepted "tasya" ("his"). He records the variant rather than adopting it.
यह एक पाठ-भेद की टिप्पणी है — जीव स्वीकृत पाठ 'तस्य' ('उसका') के सामने 'पश्य' ('देख!', सखी के प्रति आज्ञा) को अस्वीकृत पाठ के रूप में दर्ज करते हैं। वे उसे अपनाते नहीं, केवल भेद का उल्लेख करते हैं।

arthād atyanta-śitim ayuktamwhich, by implication, means joined with extreme whiteness — a face gone very pale arthāt = "by force of the sense", i.e. what the moon-simile actually conveys; śiti = white/pale, so the point of the comparison is pallor, not brightnessअर्थवश अत्यन्त श्वेत (पीलेपन) से युक्त — 'अर्थात्' का तात्पर्य यह कि चन्द्र-उपमा वस्तुतः जो बताती है वही है, और 'शिति' का अर्थ श्वेत/विवर्ण है, अतः उपमा का लक्ष्य कान्ति नहीं बल्कि पीलापन है
ānanaṁ babhauthe face shoneमुख शोभित हुआ
kaṁsa-śatruṁ — śrī-kṛṣṇaṁ; abhiyuñjataḥ — yuddhārthaṁ ābhimukhyena milataḥ kamsa-bhrātṝn; ruṣyataḥ baladevasya prodyad-indu-nibhaṁ — prodyac-candra-sadṛśaṁ, arthād atyanta-śitim ayuktam, ānanaṁ babhau

Viśvanātha names "Kaṁsa's enemy" as Kṛṣṇa, and reads "attacking" as "closing in head-on for battle" — done by Kaṁsa's brothers, so we know whom the participle describes. "Of the angry Baladeva." Then the key move: "like the rising moon" does not mean bright — by implication (arthāt) it means the face was joined with extreme whiteness, gone deathly pale. That pallor is the vaivarṇya, the sāttvika sign of his anger; the face so pale shone forth.
कंस के शत्रु श्री कृष्ण पर युद्ध के लिए सम्मुख होकर भिड़ते हुए कंस के भाइयों को (देखकर) क्रोधित होते हुए बलदेव का मुख उगते चन्द्रमा के समान शोभित हुआ। 'उगते चन्द्र के समान' का अर्थवश तात्पर्य है — अत्यन्त श्वेत, अर्थात् क्रोध से विवर्ण (पीला) पड़ा हुआ।
