kampo raty-anugāmitvād asau digdha itīryate ||
kampaḥtrembling (kampa) — taken as the sample signकम्प (कँपकँपी)
raty-anugāmitvātbecause it comes trailing after rati ablative of cause; -anugāmitva = the state of following-afterक्योंकि वह रति का अनुगमन करता है (रति के पीछे-पीछे चलता है)

asau kampaḥ — this trembling; raty-anugāmitvāt — because it follows rati; digdha iti — as 'digdha'; īryate — is called.
Take trembling: because it comes trailing after rati, it is called 'digdha' — the 'smeared' grade, the kind actually touched by love.
digdha ('smeared, anointed') is the middle grade of a sāttvika sign by its link to rati — more than rukṣa ('dry'), less than the fully rati-soaked snigdha.

siddha-bhaktopame jane vismayādibhiḥ jātāḥ sāttvikāḥ rukṣāḥ — in one who only looks like a perfected devotee, the signs arisen from wonder etc. are dry; sāttvikāḥ tu tad-udbhūtāḥ rukṣāḥ syuḥ karbūrābhidhāḥ — but the signs produced from those would be dry ones bearing the name karbūra.
Viśvanātha: when these signs break out in a man who merely looks like an advanced devotee, sparked by wonder and the like, they are the 'dry' rukṣa signs. And the signs that in turn come out of those are dry too — these carry the name karbūra, 'mottled.'
karbūra ('mottled, speckled') is fixed by the verse cited in the next segment: tears and horripilation appearing together in a rati-less reciter are jointly called karbūra.

Viśvanātha reads the verse out: his 'conduct' means 'by cause' — it is the man's habitual behavior, one whose sole pursuit is enjoyment, that shows his heart to be rati-less; and yet that delighted fellow's body bristled with goosebumps at sweet songs of Kṛṣṇa's play. He then quotes: some Vārāṇasī man, reciting Hari's deeds in an assembly of ascetics, stands hair-on-end and wets both cheeks with tears. And, the verse concludes, tears and horripilation occurring together like this the wise call karbūra.
The embedded verse is adduced to fix the term karbūra ('mottled'): two rukṣa signs — tears and horripilation — surfacing together in a rati-less reciter.
