yatra ceṣṭā śṛṅgāra-pracurā [bhavati] — in whichever gesture the movement abounds in śṛṅgāra; taṁ lalitaṁ viduḥ — that they call lalita.
A gesture that is full of the amorous mood — that is what they call lalita, 'the graceful'. This is the definition; the verse that follows will illustrate it.
The lakṣaṇa of lalita, one of the anubhāvas (bodily expressions) treated in the vibhāva laharī of 2.1. The graceful play of the limbs saturated with śṛṅgāra.

kṛṣṇaḥ rādhāyāḥ kuca-mukulayoḥ keli-makarīṁ vidhatte — Kṛṣṇa draws a playful makarī on Rādhā's bud-like breasts.
Kṛṣṇa is drawing a playful makarī-design on the bud-like breasts of Rādhā. This begins the picture that shows what lalita looks like.
An udāharaṇa illustrating lalita, the graceful gesture defined in the preceding line (2.1.267). The whole point turns on Kṛṣṇa's two hands doing two opposite things gracefully at once.

With his right hand he draws it — mind fully absorbed, eager, the connoisseur of rasa that he is. That is the one hand at its amorous play.

At that very moment the bull-demon Ariṣṭa is bellowing harshly, full of bluster. And Kṛṣṇa, laughing, turns his left hand to the other task.

Viśvanātha says: the one 'with intent mind' is Śrī-Kṛṣṇa. 'Impetuously' here means 'joyfully' — he does it in a way that shows his delight. With the right hand he draws the makarī.

Viśvanātha continues: at that very moment, while the demon Ariṣṭa bellows harshly, with the left hand — for the sake of the fight — Kṛṣṇa ties up his waist, girding himself for battle. So parikara means the tightening of the waist-cloth.
