L1definition
māṅgalyaṁ jagatām eva viśvāsāspadatā matā ||
māṅgalyaṁwhat counts as māṅgalya (auspiciousness)मांगल्य — मंगलमय होना
jagatām evafor all the worlds — for everyone alike eva: emphatic, 'the worlds without exception'सम्पूर्ण जगतों का ही ('एव' से — बिना किसी अपवाद के, सारे लोकों का)
viśvāsa-āspadatāis being the abode of trust — a place where the world's confidence can restविश्वास का आश्रय होना, अर्थात् जिस पर सब भरोसा टिका सकें ऐसा होना
matāis held to be(यही) मानी गई है
māṅgalyam — auspiciousness; jagatām eva — for all the worlds; viśvāsa-āspadatā — being the abode of trust; matā — is held to be.
What makes something māṅgalya (auspicious) for all the worlds? Being the one place where trust can rest — the thing everyone can safely rely on. That, says Rūpa, is what auspiciousness really is.
This is the lakṣaṇa line. māṅgalya (auspiciousness) is here defined not by ritual luck but by viśvāsa-āspadatā — being a dependable refuge. The verse that follows (L2–L5) is its udāharaṇa.

anyāyyaṁ na harau iti — 'Hari does nothing unjust' so thinking; vyapagata-dvāra-argalāḥ — with door-bolts removed; dānavāḥ — the demons.
The demons think: 'Hari never does anything unjust — he will not strike us unfairly.' Trusting that, they leave their very doors unbolted. Even his enemies feel safe under him.
An udāharaṇa illustrating māṅgalya (auspiciousness), defined in L1 as viśvāsa-āspadatā, 'being the abode of the world's trust.' The verse names three groups — demons, gods, devotees — each resting confident in Kṛṣṇa for a different reason.

rakṣī kṛṣṇaḥ iti — 'Kṛṣṇa is the protector' so thinking; surāḥ — the gods; abhitaḥ — all around; pramattam — carefree; krīḍāsu raktāḥ — absorbed in play.
The gods think: 'Kṛṣṇa is our guard.' So on every side they play carelessly, lost in their sports, not bothering to watch out. Their protector's reliability lets them be at ease.
'pramattam' (carefree, off-guard) is an adverb of the gods' playing — Jīva unpacks it as anavahita, 'inattentive' (s2).

The devotees think: 'He is the witness within — he already knows my devotion, I need not prove it.' Bowed low, in crowds, they drop every anxiety. Kṛṣṇa's watching presence is what lets them relax.
Viśvanātha (s1) glosses sākṣī as antaryāmī bhagavān, the indwelling Lord, and reads cinta-ujjhitāḥ as 'freed by anxiety being let go — for that reason.'

So, O Viśvambhara, maintainer of all — who is there who has not placed his trust at your two feet? Demons, gods, devotees alike: everyone rests confident in you. That total trustworthiness is your māṅgalya.
The refrain ties the three groups back to the L1 definition: being the universal abode of trust (viśvāsa-āspadatā) is exactly what the vocative Viśvambhara, 'all-upholder,' names.

Jīva glosses 'pramattam' as anavahita, inattentive. And he reads it adverbially: not 'the heedless ones' but 'they played in a heedless way.'

pramāda-rūpaḥ kartṛ-dharmaḥthe agent's own property, namely heedlessness (pramāda)प्रमादरूप कर्ता का धर्म
kriyāyām āropyateis transferred onto the action āropa: a property of the doer is spoken of the deedक्रिया पर आरोपित किया जाता है (आरोप)
kriyā-kartroḥ āsattyābecause action and agent stand so close together instrumental of cause: āsatti (proximity) is the reason for the transferक्योंकि क्रिया और कर्ता में निकटता (आसत्ति) है, उसी के कारण (तृतीया)
tādātmya-bodhanāyain order to convey their oneness — that doer and deed are as one dative of purposeतादात्म्य (एकात्मता) का बोध कराने के लिए
raktā iti — on 'raktāḥ'; pramāda-rūpaḥ kartṛ-dharmaḥ — the heedlessness that belongs to the agent; kriyāyām āropyate — is superimposed on the action; kriyā-kartroḥ āsattyā — through the closeness of action and agent; tādātmya-bodhanāya — to convey their identity.
On 'raktāḥ': heedlessness really belongs to the gods (the doers), yet the verse pins it on the playing. Jīva says this is āropa — a property of the doer laid onto the deed. Why? Because doer and deed are so tightly bound, the transfer signals they are effectively one.
āropa here is the figure of superimposition: an attribute of the agent ('heedless gods') is grammatically attached to the action ('heedless playing') to show how fused the two are.
