An udāharaṇa from Lalita-mādhava 8.34, given here (yathā vā) as a further illustration of Kṛṣṇa's own mādhurya — his sweetness working as an uddīpana-vibhāva that inflames devotional mood.

Jīva sets the scene: on a jeweled wall Bhagavān sees his own reflection — his form grown to a marvel — and the verse voices the longing that rises in him. Jīva names the reflecting surface a jeweled wall and the speaker Bhagavān.

nava-navāyamāna-tan-mādhuryatvātbecause that sweetness keeps making itself newer and newer ablative of cause — this is why the longing arises; -āyamāna = 'behaving as, becoming'क्योंकि उनका वह माधुर्य प्रतिक्षण नया-नया होता रहता है (इसी कारण यह अभिलाषा उठती है)
pratikṣaṇam — moment by moment; nava-navāyamāna-tat-mādhuryatvāt — because that sweetness renews itself ever afresh
And why does the longing arise? Because that sweetness turns newer and newer at every moment, says Jīva — so even its own possessor is drawn to taste it.

Viśvanātha frames it differently: one day, on a clear rock of Govardhana, Kṛṣṇa sees his own reflection, and this is the longing that stirs in him. Note the two commentators are not harmonized — Jīva sets it on a jeweled wall and calls the speaker Bhagavān, Viśvanātha sets it on a Govardhana rock and calls him Kṛṣṇa.
