ninditasya dama-ghoṣa-sūnunā
ninditasyaof him though he was reviled genitive, agreeing with asya (Kṛṣṇa) in L4 — the whole verse hangs on this genitiveजिसकी निन्दा की गई — उस (कृष्ण) की, यह षष्ठी पूरे श्लोक का आधार है
dama-ghoṣa-sūnunāby Damaghoṣa's son (i.e. Śiśupāla) instrumental of agent for the passive ninditasya — 'reviled BY'दमघोष के पुत्र (शिशुपाल) के द्वारा — निन्दा किसके द्वारा हुई, यह तृतीया बताती है
dama-ghoṣa-sūnunā ninditasya — of him (Kṛṣṇa) reviled by the son of Damaghoṣa
Take Kṛṣṇa, who was reviled by Śiśupāla, the son of Damaghoṣa.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) — a scene set in the Rājasūya assembly. Both included commentators (Jīva and Viśvanātha) read it as illustrating dhṛti, steadiness — that no emotional change arose in Kṛṣṇa at all — and expressly set it against gāmbhīrya, gravity, treated just before, where the emotion does arise but stays hidden.

And the same Kṛṣṇa, whom the sages praised with eager reverence. So he meets both insult and praise.

Jīva opens by naming the verse: the one starting 'ninditasya'.

Jīva pins down what the verse is actually illustrating: it is the absence of any change, not the reverent praise of the sages. Don't let the praise-line distract you.
The source has 'smabhrameṇa', a transposed scribal error for sambhrameṇa, the mūla's L2 word.

Elsewhere, Jīva notes, a similar scene is used to define gāmbhīrya, gravity. Here the quality is different, so keep the two apart.

Jīva adds a nuance: the sages here are devotees, so joy caused by their praise — inside and out — really does arise in Kṛṣṇa. What the kings failed to detect was still there.

bhedaḥthe difference liesभेद है
itiso [Jīva concludes]इस प्रकार
gāmbhīrya-dhṛtyoḥ khalu āvṛtatva-asattvābhyām eva bhedaḥ iti — the difference between gravity and steadiness lies precisely in 'being concealed' versus 'not arising at all'
Here is Jīva's rule of thumb. In gāmbhīrya the feeling arises but stays covered; in dhṛti the feeling does not arise at all. Concealment versus non-existence — that is the whole difference.
A technical distinction. gāmbhīrya is like a fire under ash: the emotion is present but āvṛta, screened from view (as, in a gāmbhīrya scene, the feeling exists yet is hidden). dhṛti is like a cold hearth: asat, no emotion arises in the first place. Applied here: Kṛṣṇa's calm at the Rājasūya is dhṛti — the anger and pleasure simply never rose.
