gūḍho’pi veṣeṇa mahī-surasya
gūḍhaḥ apithough he was hidden api = concessive, 'even though'यद्यपि छिपे हुए थे
veṣeṇaby the disguise instrumental of meansवेष के द्वारा (भेष धारण करके)
mahī-surasyaof a brāhmaṇa mahī-sura = 'earth-god', a stock word for a brāhmaṇa; genitive with veṣaमही-सुर अर्थात् ब्राह्मण का (जिसका वेष धारण किया)
gūḍhaḥ api — though hidden; mahī-surasya veṣeṇa — by the disguise of a brāhmaṇa
Though Kṛṣṇa was hidden behind the disguise of a brāhmaṇa, he still spoke plainly. The 'even though' sets up the point: the costume hid his identity, but it did not make him lie.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) of satya-vākya, 'one whose speech is never false', the guṇa of Kṛṣṇa defined at 2.1.67 (syān nānṛtaṁ vaco yasya satya-vākyaḥ sa kathyate). Introduced by yathā vā, it is a second example of that quality.

hariḥ — Hari; magadhendram — to the king of Magadha; yathārtham — truthfully; ūce — spoke
Hari spoke to the king of Magadha, Jarāsandha, and what he said matched the facts exactly. Even in disguise, his words were true.

ābhyāṁ pāṇḍavābhyāṁ saha — together with these two Pāṇḍavas; saṁsṛṣṭam — joined
He tells the king: I stand allied with these two Pāṇḍavas here beside me.

mām kṛṣṇaṁme, Kṛṣṇa accusative, the object of 'know'मुझ कृष्ण को
bhavataḥ sapatnamas your rival, your enemy bhavataḥ = genitive 'your'; sapatnam predicative accusativeअपना शत्रु (bhavataḥ — तेरा; sapatnam — विरोधी)
viddhiknow! imperative of √vidजान ले
mām kṛṣṇaṁ — me, Kṛṣṇa; bhavataḥ sapatnam — as your enemy; viddhi — know
Know me, Kṛṣṇa, to be your enemy. He drops the disguise in words: not a begging brāhmaṇa, but your rival, allied with the Pāṇḍavas. The costume concealed him; his speech did not.

vakṣyamāṇa-satya-pratijñatvenaon the grounds of the 'true-to-his-vow' quality that is to be stated later instrumental of cause; vakṣyamāṇa = 'to be spoken of ahead', a separate guṇa coming further onआगे कहे जाने वाले सत्य-प्रतिज्ञत्व गुण के कारण (जो एक अलग गुण है और आगे आएगा)
paunaruktyama charge of redundancy the objection: this example just repeats a quality dealt with elsewhereपुनरुक्ति (यही बात दुबारा कही गई ऐसी आशंका)
āhahe says(ग्रन्थकार) कहते हैं
yathā vā itithe words 'yathā vā' (or, as in this case too) iti quotes the lemma being commented on'यथा वा' — इस पद को उद्धृत करके
vakṣyamāṇa-satya-pratijñatvena paunaruktyam āśaṅkya — having anticipated a charge of redundancy on account of the 'true-to-his-vow' quality still to come; āha — he says; yathā vā iti — the words 'yathā vā'
Jīva heads off an objection. Someone could say: since Kṛṣṇa's being 'true to his vow' (satya-pratijña) is a separate quality Rūpa will treat later on, giving this example here is just repetition. Anticipating that, Rūpa adds 'yathā vā' — a further example, but of the present quality, being-true-in-speech, not of the later one.

saṁsṛṣṭaṁ militam ||
saṁsṛṣṭam — militam: saṁsṛṣṭam means 'joined'
Jīva glosses the one hard word: saṁsṛṣṭam simply means militam, 'joined together'.

Viśvanātha opens exactly as Jīva does. The worry is redundancy: Kṛṣṇa's being true to his vow comes up as its own quality later, so why illustrate it here? The answer is that 'yathā vā' gives another example of the present quality, truthful speech.

mahīsurasya brāhmaṇasya veśena gūḍho’pi magadhendraṁ jarāsandham |

magadhendraṁ jarāsandhamthe king of Magadha — namely Jarāsandha names the antecedent of magadhendraमगधराज अर्थात् जरासन्ध से
brāhmaṇasya veśena — by the guise of a brāhmaṇa; gūḍhaḥ api — though hidden; magadhendraṁ jarāsandham — the king of Magadha, Jarāsandha
Viśvanātha fills in the identities: mahīsura means a brāhmaṇa, and the king of Magadha is Jarāsandha. So: though hidden by a brāhmaṇa's guise, Kṛṣṇa addressed Jarāsandha.

Viśvanātha finishes the sentence: know me, Kṛṣṇa, allied with these two Pāṇḍavas, to be your enemy. He reads sapatna as plain śatru, 'foe' — Kṛṣṇa states his hostile position openly, which is the whole point: even in disguise his words are true.
