gokulānanda govinda goṣṭhendra-kula-candramaḥ |
gokulānandaO joy of Gokula — O you who are Gokula's delight vocative (a-stem); gokula-ānandaहे गोकुल को आनन्द देने वाले
govindaO Govinda — finder and delighter of the cows and cowherdsहे गोविन्द
goṣṭhendra-kula-candramaḥO moon of the cowherd-king's clan — the moon risen over Nanda's household vocative of candramas (stem = candramaḥ, not a nominative); goṣṭha-indra = Nanda, lord of the cow-stationहे गोष्ठपति नन्द के कुल के चन्द्रमा
gokulānanda — O joy of Gokula; govinda — O Govinda; goṣṭhendra-kula-candramaḥ — O moon of the cowherd-king's clan.
gokulānanda — हे गोकुल को आनन्द देने वाले; govinda — हे गोविन्द; goṣṭhendra-kula-candramaḥ — हे गोष्ठ के स्वामी नन्द के कुल के चन्द्रमा।
A garland of the gopīs' endearments for Kṛṣṇa opens: 'O joy of Gokula, O Govinda, O moon risen over Nanda's household.' Each name is a caress. He is the delight of the whole cowherd village, and its moon — the cool glory that lights up Nanda's clan.
हे गोकुल को आनन्द देने वाले! हे गोविन्द! हे व्रज के स्वामी नन्द के कुल के चन्द्रमा!
This closing verse is used as a maṅgala — an auspicious benediction to end the work: Viśvanātha says that at its conclusion Rūpa Gosvāmī chants Kṛṣṇa's sweet names. Line 4 tells us the addresses themselves are the vraja-devīs' praṇayoktayaḥ, their words of love; the tag 'ity-ādyāḥ' ('these and the like') marks lines 1-3 as a sampling of such endearments — which is why their cases shift (nominative, genitive, vocative): they are quoted fragments of the gopīs' speech, not one continuous sentence.

prāṇeśa sundarottaṁsa nāgarāṇāṁ śikhāmaṇeḥ ||
prāṇeśaO lord of [my] life-breath — dearer than life itself vocative; prāṇa-īśaहे (मेरे) प्राणों के स्वामी
sundarottaṁsaO crest-ornament of the beautiful — the topmost jewel among all lovely ones vocative; sundara-uttaṁsaहे सुन्दरों के शिरोभूषण
nāgarāṇāṁof all gallant lovers genitive plural; nāgara = the urbane, clever loverरसिक नागरों के
śikhāmaṇeḥ— crest-jewel [of them all] genitive singular standing in the address-garland (one expects vocative śikhāmaṇe); read loosely as 'O you, crest-jewel of the gallants'शिखामणि के — (हे शिखामणि; यहाँ सम्बोधन 'śikhāmaṇe' के स्थान पर षष्ठी पड़ी है)
prāṇeśa — O lord of my life; sundarottaṁsa — O crest-ornament of the beautiful; nāgarāṇāṁ śikhāmaṇeḥ — [O] crest-jewel of all gallant lovers.
prāṇeśa — हे प्राणों के स्वामी; sundarottaṁsa — हे सुन्दरों के शिरोभूषण; nāgarāṇāṁ śikhāmaṇeḥ — रसिक नागरों के शिखामणि (हे शिखामणि)।
The endearments mount: 'O lord of my very life, O crest-ornament among the beautiful, O crest-jewel of all the gallant lovers.' Among every handsome, clever lover, he is the single jewel set at the crown.
हे मेरे प्राणों के स्वामी! हे सुन्दरों के शिरोभूषण! हे रसिक नागरों के शिखामणि!

manoharaO enchanter of the heart — you who steal the mind away vocative; manas-haraहे मन को हरने वाले

हे वृन्दावन के चन्द्रमा! हे व्रज के युवराज! हे मनोहर!
L4definition
ity ādyā vraja-devīnāṁ preyasī praṇayoktayaḥ ||
ity ādyāḥthese, and the like — such and so forth iti closes the quoted addresses; ādyāḥ = 'having [these] as the first [of many]', nom. pl. fem. with praṇayoktayaḥइत्यादि — ये तथा इसी प्रकार के (और भी बहुत-से)
vraja-devīnāṁof the women of Vraja — the gopīs genitive plural: whose words these areव्रज-देवियों की — जिनके (ये वचन हैं)
preyasīspoken in dearest affection — full of love read with praṇayoktayaḥ; one expects the plural preyasyaḥप्रेममयी (अत्यन्त प्रिय) — (यहाँ बहुवचन 'preyasyaḥ' अपेक्षित)
praṇayoktayaḥ[are] words of love, loving addresses nominative plural; praṇaya-uktayaḥप्रणय की उक्तियाँ / प्रेम के वचन
ity ādyāḥ — these and the like; vraja-devīnāṁ — of the women of Vraja; preyasī — spoken in dearest love; praṇayoktayaḥ — [are their] words of love.
ity ādyāḥ — इत्यादि (ये और इसी प्रकार के); vraja-devīnāṁ — व्रज-देवियों की; preyasī — प्रेममयी (यहाँ बहुवचन 'preyasyaḥ' अपेक्षित); praṇayoktayaḥ — प्रणय की उक्तियाँ।
The closing line names what the garland was: 'Such, and the like, are the loving words of the women of Vraja.' Every address in lines 1-3 — 'O joy of Gokula,' 'O Govinda,' and the rest — is a praṇayokti, a word of love the gopīs pour on Kṛṣṇa. 'And the like' opens the door: these are only samples of an endless flow of endearments.
'गोकुलानन्द' आदि ये सम्बोधन व्रज-देवियों (गोपियों) के प्रेम भरे वचन हैं। 'इत्यादि' कहकर सूचित किया कि ये तो ऐसे स्नेह-सम्बोधनों के थोड़े-से उदाहरण-मात्र हैं।

Viśvanātha frames the verse: as the work reaches its end, Rūpa Gosvāmī performs a maṅgala — an auspicious closing act — by loudly chanting Kṛṣṇa's sweet names. That closing benediction is this very verse, which begins 'gokulānanda.' The garland of endearments is thus doing double work: the gopīs' words of love, taken up now as the author's own name-chanting to seal the book.
ग्रन्थ की समाप्ति के समय कृष्ण के मधुर नामों के संकीर्तन के द्वारा मंगलाचरण करते हैं। 'गोकुलानन्द' — इसी शब्द से आरम्भ होने वाला यह श्लोक।
