ayi svapno dūre viramatu samakṣaṁ śṛṇu haṭhād
ayiO [dear friend] — a tender call to Lalitā address particle; Rādhā is speaking to her sakhī Lalitāअरी सखी!
svapnaḥthe dream [I just told you of]यह स्वप्न (जिसे तूने सपना समझ लिया)

śṛṇulisten [to me]सुन
haṭhātinsistently, urgently — I press you to hear ablative used adverbially; the force with which she demands to be heardहठ करके, ज़बरदस्ती (सुन ही ले)
ayi — O [Lalitā]; svapnaḥ dūre viramatu — let the dream break off and stay far away; samakṣaṁ — right here, awake; haṭhāt śṛṇu — listen, urgently.
O friend, let that dream break off — send it far away. Listen to me right here, wide awake. I press you: hear this.
An udāharaṇa: Rādhā, a proṣita-bhartṛkā (a heroine whose beloved is away), is speaking to her friend Lalitā. It illustrates a prādurbhāva — the beloved's vivid appearance during separation which, though born of vipralambha through the rūḍha stage of love, functions as a sambhoga, a union (so Jīva). The verse is quoted from Haṁsadūta 107.

Don't disbelieve me here, friend. Don't wave it off as just a trick of my mind.

Rādhā's beloved is away — she is a proṣita-bhartṛkā. She has just told Lalitā of a union she had in a dream, and now she speaks of something springing from a prādurbhāva, a vivid appearance of the beloved. Jīva classifies it: this appearance named in the Haṁsadūta is born of the rūḍha stage of love; it runs its course through separation, so in one sense it is vaipralambhika, of the side of separation. And yet it counts as a sambhoga, a union — the kind defined earlier by the mark beginning 'nirbhara...'. That double face — separation-born but functioning as union — is the whole point.

Here is the technical classification. Although this union comes after a very long, distant separation, and by that alone it should be the highest type, samṛddhimān — still, since the two are not actually brought under each other's sway (Kṛṣṇa is only appearing to her), the mark of samṛddhimān is not met. So by elimination, Rūpa shows it to be the sampanna type instead.
In UN's fourfold division of sambhoga — saṅkṣipta, saṅkīrṇa, sampanna, and samṛddhimān — samṛddhimān is the fullest union, the one that follows a sudūra-pravāsa, a very long and distant separation, with the lovers wholly absorbed in each other. Sampanna is the completed union that does not meet that further mark. Here the long separation alone is not enough: without the mutual sway (pāratantrya), samṛddhimān's definition is unfulfilled, so the case falls to sampanna.

In some copies there is a second gloss on the 'haṭhāt...' stretch. Even though this union is felt at the end of a very long separation, since Kṛṣṇa is not seen actually brought under love's sway, it is not samṛddhimān but sampanna — and that, on this reading, is Rūpa's own intent. Viśvanātha reports it as a further explanation, without cancelling the first.

By the same reasoning, when Kṛṣṇa returns to Vraja after killing Dantavakra and rejoins Rādhā and the others, that reunion too counts as sampanna, not samṛddhimān.

This is how the 'others' read it. Of the two, the past rising up is the more usual, the present only occasional. And scripture describes a rūḍha-anubhāva in which, even without any swoon or delusion, there is constant forgetting of self and everything. So: Rādhā, Vṛndāvana's queen, under the huge helplessness born of the Mathurā-separation, at the very instant of total self-forgetting, sees Kṛṣṇa appear — and takes it as happening now: 'This is my beloved. He has handed the cows to his friends, slipped away alone on some pretext, and, overcome with love for me, come right here to the Govardhana grove to be with me.' It is really the earlier līlā, from before Akrūra came, rising up as if identical with the present. So this union is to be understood as coming at the end of only a slightly distant separation — not a very long one.
