bhavaṁś caand the ongoing kind — the parting happening right nowऔर भवत् — जो अभी हो रहा है
bhūtaś caand the past kind — the parting already over and doneऔर भूत — जो हो चुका है
tri-vidhaḥso it comes in three kindsतीन प्रकार का
sa tuthis [second separation], for its part tu turns to the second variety of pravāsa named in the lead-inवह (सः) — अर्थात् दूसरा प्रवास; 'तु' से आरम्भ में कहे दूसरे भेद की ओर मुड़ते हैं
sa tu — this [second separation], for its part; tri-vidhaḥ kīrtyate — is proclaimed to come in three kinds; bhāvī — the impending, bhavan ca — the ongoing, bhūtaḥ ca — and the past.
This second kind of separation, the text says, is proclaimed in three time-modes: the impending, about to happen; the ongoing, happening now; and the past, already over.
The 'sa' picks up the second variety of pravāsa — separation by going away — introduced in the lead-in 'atha dvitīyaḥ' ('now the second'). This line is the lakṣaṇa (definition); the verse that follows is its udāharaṇa (illustration).

An udāharaṇa illustrating impending (bhāvī) separation-by-going-away: Kṛṣṇa's departure to the city is only announced, not yet begun, and the speaker dreads a future she cannot see (see L5, 'I do not know what is to come'). Viśvanātha frames the scene: some unnamed Vraja-gopī, gripped by fear and grief, speaks to her friend.

Because Jīva leaves the verse unglossed, the edition supplies Viśvanātha Cakravartī's word-gloss next.

Viśvanātha sets the scene: some Vraja-gopī, gripped by fear, grief, and anguish, speaks to her friend. Then he glosses the words. kṣattā is the city gate-keeper. 'For going to the city' means to go to Mathurā. 'It throbs ominously' means the eye throbs in just such a way as to warn of an ill omen. And he cites the Amara-kośa: kṣattā can mean either a charioteer or a door-keeper.
The Amara-kośa is the standard classical Sanskrit thesaurus, cited here to fix which of the word's senses — door-keeper — is meant.
