nidhāyahaving fixed — and this one 'having fixed' carries over to the tongue, ears, and mind that follow gerund governing all four faculties across the verseटिकाकर (यह क्रिया आगे चारों इन्द्रियों पर लागू होती है)
rādhā — Rādhā; dṛṣṭiṁ — her gaze; surabhī-nikuramba-vīthyāṁ — on the track of the herd of cows; nidhāya — having fixed
dṛṣṭiṁ — दृष्टि को; surabhī-nikuramba-vīthyāṁ — गौओं के झुंड की राह पर; nidhāya — टिकाकर
Rādhā fixes her eyes on the track of the cow-herd. This one word 'having fixed' (nidhāya) governs the whole verse — the same act repeats for her tongue, her ears, and her mind.
राधा अपनी दृष्टि गौओं के झुंड की राह पर टिका देती है।
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) spoken by a messenger to Kṛṣṇa; the lead-in 'tatra ādyaḥ' ('there, the first—') marks it as the first example of the division just defined. Viśvanātha frames the setting as separation: Kṛṣṇa is away grazing the cows while Rādhā spends the whole day longing, sense by sense fixed on him.

muralī-śabdaḥ — the word 'muralī'; hrasva-antaḥ ca — also ending in a short vowel; asti — is attested
muralī-śabdaḥ — 'मुरली' शब्द; hrasva-antaḥ ca — अन्त में ह्रस्व स्वर वाला भी; asti — होता है
Jīva adds a small grammar note: 'muralī' is also found as 'murali', ending in a short i. So the verse's spelling 'murali-nisvanita' (short i) is a proper form, not a slip.
'मुरली' शब्द अन्त में ह्रस्व (छोटे) स्वर वाला भी होता है — अर्थात् 'मुरलि' रूप भी चलता है।
hrasvānta = 'ending in a short (hrasva) vowel'; both muralī (long ī) and murali (short i) are current forms of the word for the flute.
ह्रस्व-अन्त का अर्थ है अन्त में ह्रस्व (छोटा) स्वर होना; बाँसुरी के लिए 'मुरली' (दीर्घ ई) और 'मुरलि' (ह्रस्व इ) — दोनों रूप प्रचलित हैं।

Viśvanātha sets the scene. Kṛṣṇa is out grazing the cows. A messenger-woman comes to him and reports how Rādhā is faring. That is what the verse 'dṛṣṭiṁ nidhāya…' says. So the speaker is a dūtī, and the mood is separation — Kṛṣṇa away, Rādhā longing at home.
गौओं को चराते हुए श्रीकृष्ण से कोई दूती श्रीराधा का वृत्तान्त निवेदन करती है — 'दृष्टिं निधाय' इत्यादि श्लोक से।

tad-āgamana-vartmanīty arthaḥ ||
tad-āgamana-vartmanion the road by which he comes back [with the herd] loc.; tad 'that one' = Kṛṣṇa returning (with the cows), āgamana 'coming', vartman 'road'उस (कृष्ण के, गौओं सहित) लौट आने के मार्ग पर (तत् 'वह' = कृष्ण, आगमन 'लौटना', वर्त्मन् 'मार्ग')

tad-āgamana-vartmani — on the road of his return; iti arthaḥ — that is the meaning
tad-āgamana-vartmani — उसके (कृष्ण के) लौट आने के मार्ग पर; iti arthaḥ — ऐसा अर्थ है
'surabhī-nikuramba-vīthī' does not mean a row literally made of cows. Viśvanātha reads it as the road along which the herd — and Kṛṣṇa — come home. So Rādhā's gaze is fixed on the path home, watching for his return.
अर्थात् 'सुरभी-निकुरम्ब-वीथी' का अर्थ है — उस (कृष्ण) के गौओं सहित लौटने का मार्ग।
'tad' points to Kṛṣṇa's (and the herd's) return; the vīthī is thus the homeward road, not merely a line of cattle.
'तत्' कृष्ण के (और गौओं के) लौटने की ओर संकेत करता है; अतः यहाँ 'वीथी' घर लौटने का मार्ग है, केवल गौओं की पंक्ति मात्र नहीं।
