O slender-waisted friend — let us undertake austerities, so that we may pray to be born among the bamboo reeds.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) from Dāna-keli-kaumudī 17, given under the lead-in 'aprāṇiny api janma-lālasā-bharaḥ' — the mark of anurāga by which one longs to take birth even as an insentient thing (here, Kṛṣṇa's flute) for the sake of his touch. Rādhā speaks the four lines to her friend Lalitā (so Viśvanātha names her).

Deem that birth, my friend, the choicest of all good births.

atra ca — and here; prakaraṇa-vaśāt — by force of the context; tal-lābhe avagate api — even though his attainment is understood; atṛpti-vyañjanāt — because non-satiety is hinted at; navanavāyamānatvam — the ever-fresh quality [is what is illustrated].
And here, Jīva says, the context makes the point clear: even though union with Kṛṣṇa is already assumed, the verse breathes a thirst that is never filled — and that is navanavāyamānatā, the ever-fresh quality of anurāga, in which the beloved is felt as new at every moment.
navanavāyamānatā — 'the state of becoming new and new again': a defining mark of anurāga, where the constantly-attained beloved is nonetheless experienced as fresh and unprecedented each moment, so that longing never runs dry.

Viśvanātha sets the scene: Śrī Rādhā, feeling herself unfulfilled, speaks to Lalitā. Then he glosses the words — veṇuṣu means among the bamboo-species, janur means a birth, and she wants to pray for it.

curādy-ad-antaḥbelongs to the cur-ādi (tenth) class, its stem ending in the -aya affix — hence the form varayitumचुरादिगण का, अ-कारान्त (णिच्-अन्त)
varaḥ — the root vara; īpsāyām — in the sense 'to wish to obtain'; curādy-ad-antaḥ — is a curādi (tenth-class) verb ending in the -aya stem.
A grammar note: the verb vara, in the sense 'to wish to obtain,' is a curādi (tenth-class) root that takes the -aya stem — which is why the verse's form is varayitum, 'to pray for.'

Now an objection: leaving aside birth as a god or some such high birth, why pray for birth as a lowly creature — a mere plant? To meet it, Rādhā speaks the line 'vareṇyam…'.

Here is Viśvanātha's conclusion: although Rādhā already sports with Kṛṣṇa in divine play day and night, the context shows that her overwhelming thirst — which makes her experience him as ever-new, this way and that, and offers up that intense loving contemplation — must be recognized as anurāga itself, nothing less. So this verse is placed under anurāga.
