nanu — but surely; rūpāt tāvat — granted, from seeing his form; ālambana-svarūpa-niścayena — because the support's nature is pinned down; tad-viṣayaka-raty-upapattiḥ yuktā eva — love aimed at it arises reasonably enough; śabdādibhyas tu — but from mere hearsay, sound and the rest; avijñāta-tattvebhyaḥ — things whose true nature is unknown; viṣayālambana-rūpājñānāt — since the form of the support is unknown; kim-ākārā ratir āvirbhavet — what-shaped love could arise? iti saṁśaye — with this doubt standing; samādadhāti — he answers: lokottara-padārthānāṁ mahā-camatkāravatām aprākṛta-vastūnāṁ śrī-kṛṣṇa-sambandhināṁ — of these transcendent, wonder-laden, non-material things tied to Kṛṣṇa; tasyā rater ālambanaṁ tad-viṣayaṁ — the support of that love, its object; bhāsayet prakāśayet — [the power] would reveal.
Viśvanātha first raises the doubt. When you actually see Kṛṣṇa's beauty, fine — you know exactly what the object is, so love for it makes sense. But what about someone who only hears of him, through words and reports? The real nature of the object is not grasped; its form is unknown. So what shape could love even take? There is nothing definite to love. With that doubt standing, he gives the answer: these are transcendent things — full of wonder, not of this material world, tied to Kṛṣṇa. Their power itself lights up the very object that such love rests on. It shows you the ālambana you could not otherwise see.
Two matched technical terms drive the doubt. ālambana is the 'support' love leans on — its object; rūpāt is love born of direct sight, śabdādi love born only of hearing. The objection is that hearing gives no clear ālambana; the reply is that the object's own transcendent power supplies one.

ekadā — 'at one time' means; sahaiva — both together at once; tatrāpi — even in that hearsay case; tūrṇam eva — and immediately.
He fills in the verse's last words. 'At one time' means the love and its object dawn together, in a single stroke. And 'quickly' means without delay. Even in the hard case — where the object was only heard of — the revealing happens all at once and right away.
