An udāharaṇa of avajñā, 'contemptuous slighting', the transient emotion under discussion; quoted from Gīta-govinda 8.10, spoken by Rādhā as a khaṇḍitā (a heroine whose lover comes at dawn marked by another woman) rebuking Kṛṣṇa.

What sort of heart? Coated with your beloved's foot-lac, it glows red like dawn. And Viśvanātha reads the red as an omen: aruṇa is the red glow before sunrise — so this heart's redness is the dawn-glow announcing the sunrise of the torment about to blaze up in me.
हृदय कैसा? — प्रिया (सौत) के चरण की महावर से लिपा हुआ, इसी कारण अरुण (सूर्य) के समान चमकता हुआ; मानो वह मेरे उठने वाले संताप रूपी सूर्योदय का सूचक हो।

And now, to be the death of me, that hidden love has broken out into the open — the red stain on your chest is that very love, come outside to slay me.
अब वही अनुराग मेरे वध के लिए बाहर निकल आया है — ऐसा अर्थ है।
