ruvatiwhen [it] rings out locative absolute with kṛṣṇa-nūpure — 'when… sounds'जब बज उठी — बजने पर (कृष्ण-नूपुर के साथ सति-सप्तमी)
gopure — at the city-gate; kṛṣṇa-nūpure ruvati — when Kṛṣṇa's ankle-bells ring out
The scene opens at the city-gate. Kṛṣṇa's ankle-bells jingle there — he is passing by. The whole verse hangs on this one sound: the beloved is near.
An udāharaṇa of jāḍya ('stupefied dullness — a blank inability to act'), the vyabhicāri-bhāva cross-referenced here to verse 52; the lead-in flags its trigger as tad-iṣṭa-śrutyā, 'from hearing [the sound] of the beloved.'

She wants to run out to see him. She even gathers up her flurried excitement to go. And yet — hold on to that 'and yet'; the next line overturns it.

She cannot move — as if her feet had been nailed down. Her eyes fall shut. This is the jāḍya taking hold: the body simply stops.

The lovely woman just sinks down — and mark where: in her own house. She never reached the gate at all. Longing to run to him, she cannot even leave the room. That frozen collapse is jāḍya.

jāḍyam apratipattiḥ ||
jāḍyamjāḍya (the stupefied dullness just shown)जाड्य (जड़ता)
apratipattiḥis apratipatti — a blank failure to respond, not knowing what to doअप्रतिपत्ति — क्या किया जाए यह न सूझना
jāḍyam — jāḍya; apratipattiḥ — is a blank inability to respond
Jīva gives the one-word definition: jāḍya is apratipatti. A total blank — no response can be mustered. She knows Kṛṣṇa is at the gate, yet she can do nothing about it.
jāḍya, from jaḍa, 'inert, insentient (like cold, dead matter)'; apratipatti is the failure of pratipatti, 'grasping / responding' — being at a loss as to what to do.

kundavallī — Kundavallī; nāndīmukhīm āha — speaks this to Nāndīmukhī; gopure — [the word] 'gopura'; pura-dvāre — means 'at the city-gate'
Viśvanātha sets the dramatic frame: it is Kundavallī who speaks this verse, and she speaks it to Nāndīmukhī. Then he clears up one word — 'gopura' in the verse means the city-gate.
