An udāharaṇa of dainya — the sense of one's own wretchedness, a vyabhicāri-bhāva; spoken by the gopīs in the rāsa-līlā (Bhāgavata 10.29.38). Viśvanātha frames it as the dainya not of the beginner but of the perfected (siddha) devotees.

The dramatic setting is the rāsa-līlā: Kṛṣṇa first feigned aloofness, telling the gopīs to return home; this verse is their pleading reply.
