A certain gopī draws Kṛṣṇa in through the openings of her eyes, sets him down inside her heart, and then shuts her eyes over him.
An udāharaṇa of a sāttvika-bhāva arising from harṣa (joy), cited from Bhāgavatam 10.32.8. It is the rāsa-līlā: a gopī who has just recovered Kṛṣṇa shows pulaka (horripilation) and a trance-like absorption — the involuntary bodily signs the chapter is defining.

Her limbs bristling with horripilation (pulaka), she embraces him and holds perfectly still — like a yogī sunk in trance, flooded through with bliss.
The two sāttvika signs harṣa produces here: pulaka (horripilation) on the body, and pralaya-like absorption — she goes still and inward, 'like a yogī.'

yogī iva'like a yogī' — like one absorbed in meditationयोगी के समान
saṁyogī iva[hear it also as] 'like one in union' — united with her beloved the śleṣa: yogī split as sam-yogī; Jīva unfolds the pun the verse hidesश्लेष: अर्थात् संयोगी (प्रियतम से मिली हुई) के समान — जीव पद में छिपे श्लेष को खोलते हैं
yathā syāt tathāin just such a manner — however either sense would have itजैसा (भाव) हो, वैसा

yogī iva — like a yogī; saṁyogī iva — [and] like one in union; yathā syāt tathā — in whatever such manner it would be; āste sma — she remained.
Jīva turns the one word 'yogī' twice. A yogī (yogī) is one lost in trance — but listen again: saṁyogī, 'one joined in union.' She stayed exactly like that: outwardly a meditator sunk in samādhi, inwardly a lover in union with her beloved. 'She remained (āste sma)' — that is the verb the verse leaves her holding.
śleṣa on yogī / saṁyogī: the meditator's word carries the lover's sense. The stillness that looks like samādhi is really the stillness of union.

Viśvanātha supplies her motive. This Kṛṣṇa she has just recovered by rare good fortune — and he had once slipped away before. She is afraid he will do it again. So she pulls him in through her eyes, drops him into her heart, and shuts her eyes tight, locking him where he cannot escape. That fear, Viśvanātha says, is the real sense of the line.
