mādhavasya parivartita-gotrāṁ
mādhavasyaof Mādhava (Kṛṣṇa) — whose speech it is genitive; governs giraṁ in L2माधव (कृष्ण) की — यह सम्बन्ध आगे L2 की 'गिरम्' (वाणी) से जुड़ता है
parivartita-gotrāṁin which the name was swapped — he called her by another's name gotra = 'name'; parivartita = 'changed'; agrees with giraṁ (the speech)जिसमें गोत्र अर्थात् नाम बदल दिया गया हो, ऐसी (वाणी) — 'परिवर्तित' और 'गोत्र' मिलकर गिरम् का विशेषण
mādhavasya — of Mādhava; parivartita-gotrāṁ — [the speech] in which the name was swapped [modifying giraṁ, L2]
This is about Mādhava's speech that night. In it a name was swapped: he called Śyāmalā by another woman's name.
This verse is an udāharaṇa in prakaraṇa 12 (Sāttvika-bhāva). Per the lead-in amarṣād yathā, it illustrates a sāttvika-bhāva arising from amarṣa (indignation): Śyāmalā, stung at being called by another's name, is stunned stiff — the unwinking eyes and drained luster of the next lines mark stambha (stupefaction).

deva-yoṣid iva nirnimiṣākṣī
deva-yoṣid ivalike a goddess iva — simile; it sets up two goddess-traits: unwinking eyes (this line) and no shadow (L4)देवांगना के समान — 'इव' उपमा; यह देवियों के दो लक्षण जोड़ता है: अपलक आँखें (इसी पंक्ति में) और छाया का न होना (L4 में)
nirnimiṣākṣīher eyes unwinking — she stood there not blinking bahuvrīhi describing Śyāmalā; gods are said not to blink, and here it marks stambha (being stunned stiff)जिसकी आँखें अपलक (बिना पलक झपके) हों, ऐसी — देवता पलक नहीं झपकाते; यहाँ यह स्तम्भ (जड़ हो जाना) को सूचित करता है

She became like a goddess. Her eyes stopped blinking. Goddesses are said never to blink; here it shows she was stunned rigid.

chāyayā ca rahitā kṣaṇam ayāsīt ||
chāyayā ca rahitāand bereft of chāyā — of her luster (she went pale), and, goddess-like, of shadow instrumental of separation with rahitā; chāyā carries both senses at once — this is the verse's śleṣa (see the commentaries)छाया से रहित (भी) — 'रहिता' के साथ अपादान की तृतीया; यहाँ 'छाया' शब्द एक साथ दो अर्थ रखता है — यही श्लोक का श्लेष (टीकाएँ देखें)
kṣaṇamfor a moment accusative of durationक्षण भर के लिए — अवधि का द्वितीया
ayāsītshe came to be / she turned aorist; the sentence's main verbहो गई — वाक्य की मुख्य क्रिया (लुङ्)
chāyayā ca rahitā — and bereft of chāyā; kṣaṇam — for a moment; ayāsīt — she came to be
And for a moment she lost her chāyā. On one reading chāyā is her luster: she turned pale from the shock. On the other it is shadow: goddesses cast none, and she looked exactly so. Both senses run together.

gotraṁ nāma |
nāmameans 'name' nāma here = 'namely / that is'; Jīva glosses gotra as nāman (a personal name)अर्थात् नाम — यहाँ 'नाम' का अर्थ 'यानी'; जीव गोत्र को 'नाम' (व्यक्ति का नाम) बताते हैं
gotraṁ — the word gotra; nāma — means 'name'
Jīva glosses the word gotra: here it just means 'name.' So 'name-swapped' means Mādhava used the wrong name.
'गोत्र' का अर्थ है 'नाम'।

chāyayā kāntyā |
kāntyāmeans 'by her luster / complexion' instrumental, matching the verse's chāyayā; this is the first (plain, human) reading — she lost her glowकान्ति अर्थात् — यह पहला (सीधा, मानवीय) अर्थ है: उसकी चमक जाती रही
chāyayā — the word chāyā; kāntyā — means her luster
Jīva takes chāyā first in its ordinary sense: luster, complexion. Bereft of chāyā, then, means she turned pale.
'छाया' का अर्थ है कान्ति (चमक)।

pakṣe sva-vyavadhāna-kṛtātāpābhāva-rūpayā |
pakṣeon the other reading pakṣe = 'in the second alternative'; it opens the śleṣa's shadow-sense — kept distinct from s2, not mergedदूसरे पक्ष में — यह श्लेष का छाया-अर्थवाला पक्ष खोलता है; s2 से अलग रखा गया, मिलाया नहीं गया
sva-vyavadhāna-kṛta-ātāpa-abhāva-rūpayāchāyā taken as 'shadow' — the form that is the absence of sunlight made by one's own blocking of it instrumental agreeing with chāyayā; unpacks 'shadow' as the patch of no-sun a body casts by standing in the wayअपने (शरीर के) व्यवधान से उत्पन्न धूप के अभावरूप (छाया) से — 'छाया' को उस निर्धूप स्थान के रूप में खोलता है जो शरीर बीच में खड़े होकर बनाता है
pakṣe — on the second reading; sva-vyavadhāna-kṛta-ātāpa-abhāva-rūpayā — chāyā as shadow, the patch of no-sunlight one's own body casts
Or else — the other side of the pun. Here chāyā means shadow: the shade a body makes by blocking the sun. Like a goddess, who casts none, she was 'shadow-less.' Jīva lets both senses stand; he does not pick one.

chāyā sūrya-priyā kāntiḥ pratibimbam anātapaḥ iti nānārtha-vargāt ||
chāyā sūrya-priyā kāntiḥ pratibimbam anātapaḥ'chāyā [means] the Sun's wife, luster, a reflection, [and] absence of sunlight''छाया' के अर्थ — सूर्यप्रिया (छाया-देवी), कान्ति, प्रतिबिम्ब, अनातप (धूप का अभाव)
iti nānārtha-vargātso runs the entry, drawn from the nānārtha-varga (the lexicon of words with many meanings) ablative — 'as taken from the polysemy-lexicon'; it authorizes chāyā's several sensesऐसा नानार्थवर्ग (अनेकार्थ-कोश) से — पञ्चमी; यह 'छाया' के अनेक अर्थों को प्रमाणित करता है
chāyā ... anātapaḥ — chāyā means the Sun's-wife, luster, a reflection, no-sunlight; iti nānārtha-vargāt — thus, from the polysemy-lexicon
He backs the double sense from the dictionary. The nānārtha-varga lists chāyā's meanings: the Sun's wife, luster, a reflection, and the absence of sunlight (shadow). Both 'luster' and 'shadow' are on the list, so the pun is licensed.
'छाया = सूर्यप्रिया, कान्ति, प्रतिबिम्ब, अनातप' — यह अनेकार्थ-कोश से (लिया गया) है।
Why cited: cited to license chāyā's double sense — both 'luster' and 'shadow' — grounding the verse's śleṣa in the lexicon.

he priye pāli iti ākārāṁshaped like the words 'O dear Pāli!' — he addressed Śyāmalā by the name Pāli iti + ākārā = 'having the form of…'; ākārāṁ agrees with giraṁ; since the verse says the name was swapped, 'Pāli' is not Śyāmalā's own name'हे प्रिये पालि!'

he priye pāli iti ākārāṁ — shaped like 'O dear Pāli'; giraṁ — the speech
he priye pāli iti ākārāṁ — 'हे प्रिये पालि!'
Viśvanātha fills in the actual words: Mādhava said, 'O dear Pāli!' That name is not Śyāmalā's — that is the swap, calling her by another's name. And that is what stung her.
'हे प्रिये पालि!' — इस रूपवाली वाणी को।
