Do not keep wearing yourself out, dear friend, daughter of Vṛṣabhānu.

The opening line of an udāharaṇa of āśvāsana — the sakhī's 'consoling / reassuring' of the distressed heroine, as the lead-in 'āśvāsanaṁ, yathā—' announces. Viśvanātha assigns the speech to Lalitā (s1).

And here the moon — shaking off the dark — rises up close before you. On the hidden reading vidhu is Kṛṣṇa himself: he is the one rising near at hand.
Closing line of the āśvāsana udāharaṇa, and the śleṣa's landing point: vidhu names both the moon and Kṛṣṇa. The whole consolation turns on it — the sun of the separation-day sinks, and the 'moon' who is Kṛṣṇa is already rising.

Viśvanātha unpacks the compound: caṅkrama is a winding, crooked going, and utka means 'eager' — so the sun longs to wind its way down to the setting mountain.

Could caṅkrama carry some other meaning? No. Pāṇini's rule 'nityaṁ kauṭilye gatau' fixes the yaṅ form to the sense of winding motion alone — so no other meaning is possible here.
caṅkrama is the yaṅ-anta (frequentative/intensive) of √kram; sūtra 3.1.23 restricts that formation to motion that is kauṭilya, 'crooked, winding.'

A grammarian's aside: 'kauṭilye gatau' by itself already does the enjoining, so why does the sūtra also say 'nitya,' 'always'? The extra word is a signal — it warns that the takra-kauṇḍinya maxim (a rule of restrictive exception) is not to be applied here, blocking anyone from taking yaṅ as arising just because a motion-verb happens to be present.
takra-kauṇḍinya-nyāya — 'the buttermilk-for-Kauṇḍinya maxim,' from 'give the Brahmins curds, Kauṇḍinya buttermilk': a maxim of restrictive exception. The sūtra's word 'nitya' is read as a jñāpaka (indicatory marker) signalling that this maxim does not bind here.
