This verse illustrates the jyotsnā-abhisārikā — the heroine who sets out to meet her lover herself, on a moonlit night. Viśākhā is coaxing Rādhā to go.

kṣaumeṇa'kṣauma' [the word in the verse] means —'क्षौम' (वस्त्र) से — अर्थात्
sūkṣmātasī-tantu-sambhavenamade from fine flax threads sūkṣma (fine) + atasī (flax, linen) + tantu (thread) + sambhava (arising from)बारीक अलसी (सन) के धागे से उत्पन्न
vastreṇaa cloth, a garmentवस्त्र से (यह अभिप्राय है)
kṣaumeṇa — [the word] kṣauma; sūkṣmātasī-tantu-sambhavena vastreṇa — [means] a cloth made from fine flax threads.

तुम्हारे दर्शन-रस का आस्वाद न पाकर वह (चाँदनी) वैसी (मनोहर) होकर भी व्यर्थ हो जाती है — इस कारण से (कृष्ण) तुम्हारे मार्ग को ऊपर उठकर दूर तक देखते हैं।
Without the sight of you to savour, even a night as fine as this is wasted on him. That is why he cranes himself up and gazes down your path all the way to its far end. This is what the verse's ud- in udvīkṣate is doing — 'looking up and out.'
तुम्हारे दर्शन के रस का आस्वाद न मिलने से, इतनी सुन्दर होकर भी वह चाँदनी व्यर्थ हो जाती है; इसीलिए कृष्ण ऊँचे होकर तुम्हारी राह को दूर तक निहारते हैं।

यह पहला (अलसी-वस्त्र वाला) अर्थ हटाता नहीं; 'कुछ लोग' का यह दूसरा मत उसके साथ-साथ खड़ा रहता है। दोनों को यहाँ सुलझाया नहीं जाता।
