leśaḥ — leśa; vacaḥ — is a piece of speech; iṅgita-jñāna-kṛt — that makes an unspoken intention known; viśeṣaṇavat — the way a qualifying word does; syāt — is, by definition.
leśaḥ — लेश (नामक सन्धि-अंग); syāt — होता है; viśeṣaṇavat — विशेषण के समान; iṅgita-jñāna-kṛt — जो अनकहे अभिप्राय का बोध करा देता है; ऐसा vacaḥ — वचन।
This line defines leśa. It is a bit of speech that makes an inner, unspoken intention known. And it works the way a qualifying word works: just as an adjective quietly reveals some special feature of the noun it hangs on, a leśa lets a hidden intention show through what is said. So a passing remark carries a hint, and the hearer catches it without its being spelled out.
जो वचन विशेषण के समान होकर अनकहे अभिप्राय (इंगित) का ज्ञान करा देता है, वही लेश कहलाता है। जैसे विशेषण अपने विशेष्य के छिपे धर्म को खोल देता है, वैसे ही यह कथन बिना खुलकर कहे भीतर के भाव को प्रकट कर देता है।
leśa ordinarily means 'a trace, a small portion.' As a technical nāṭya term here it names a sandhy-aṅga — a limb of a dramatic juncture — namely a hinting statement through which an unspoken intention (iṅgita) is conveyed. This is the lakṣaṇa (defining verse) of the leśa named in this subsection; the -vat comparison to a viśeṣaṇa is the definition's own device for saying how the hint is carried.

A piece of speech that makes an inner, unspoken intention known — working the way a qualifying word does, which quietly reveals some hidden feature of the noun it hangs on — is what is called leśa.
जो वचन विशेषण के समान होकर अनकहे अभिप्राय — इंगित — का ज्ञान करा देता है, वही लेश कहलाता है; जैसे विशेषण अपने विशेष्य के छिपे धर्म को खोल देता है, वैसे ही यह कथन बिना खुलकर कहे भीतर के भाव को प्रकट कर देता है।
The lakṣaṇa (defining verse) of leśa, a sandhy-aṅga: it defines leśa as a hinting statement that, like a viśeṣaṇa exposing a hidden feature, conveys an unspoken intention (iṅgita).
यह कारिका लेश नामक सन्धि-अंग का लक्षण देती है, जिसे आगे उद्धृत उदाहरणों से स्पष्ट किया जाता है।
