kadarthanād apy urubālya-cāpalair
kadarthanāteven from the way I torment her — kadarthanā, the trouble he causes her ablative of cause, joined to api; the source of the surge named in L2(उसे) पहुँचे कष्ट-तिरस्कार के कारण भी
apieven — concessive: what should vex her instead makes his love swellभी
uru-bālya-cāpalaiḥby [my] great childish restlessness — the endless boyish pranks through which he troubles her instrumental of means, telling how the kadarthanā is doneअत्यन्त बालोचित चपल क्रीड़ाओं के द्वारा
kadarthanāt api — even from tormenting her; uru-bālya-cāpalaiḥ — by [my] great childish pranks.
This is Kṛṣṇa speaking. He opens with his own mischief. 'Even from the way I torment her' — kadarthanā, the trouble he makes for her — 'with my great childish restlessness, my endless boyish pranks.' The little word api, 'even', is the hinge: what ought to provoke annoyance instead makes his tenderness surge. The sentence is not finished here; it carries over into the next line.
An udāharaṇa of tulya-tarka, the ornament defined just above at kārikā 168 (nc.8.51): rūpakair upamābhir vā tulyārthābhiḥ prayojitaḥ | apratyakṣārtha-saṁsparśaḥ tulya-tarka itīritaḥ — 'a figure that grazes an unseen matter through a metaphor or simile of parallel sense is tulya-tarka.' The device itself lands in line 4 (havir vilāyam, 'melting like an oblation of ghee'): an elliptical simile (luptopamā) that makes perceptible the imperceptible melting of the heart. Rūpa's own analysis of this very verse names it — havir vilāyam iti luptopamayā apratyakṣasya citta-dravasya kathanaṁ tulya-tarkaḥ (given in the lead-in at nc.8.53). Spoken by Kṛṣṇa (kṛṣṇaḥ); cited from the ninth act of the same play just quoted (yathā tatraiva navame), Rūpa's own Lalita-Mādhava (9.26).

utsarpato sneha-bhareṇa viklavām |
utsarpataḥof me, [my love] welling up — surging, springing over genitive present participle of ut-sṛp, agreeing with mama (L3): the speaker in whom the affection risesजिसमें (स्नेह) उमड़ रहा है, ऐसे (मुझ) का
sneha-bhareṇawith a flood of affection — bhara, its sheer weight and fullness instrumental of means; sneha also means oil or grease, already reaching toward the melting image of L4स्नेह के भार से (स्नेह का अर्थ तेल-चिकनाई भी)
viklavām[my mother,] overcome — undone, distraught with feeling accusative feminine, qualifying mātaram (L3), the one he gazes uponविह्वल (माता) को
sneha-bhareṇa utsarpataḥ — welling up with a flood of affection; viklavām — [my mother,] overcome.
Now the feeling itself. His love is utsarpataḥ — welling up, surging over — 'with a flood of affection,' sneha-bhara. And the mother he is about to name is viklavā, overcome, undone with emotion. Hear the word sneha: it means affection, but it also means oil or ghee. That second sense is already leaning toward the closing line, where the heart will melt like clarified butter.
Why cited: part of the udāharaṇa of tulya-tarka (168): the surge of affection — sneha, with its undertone of 'oil' — and the overcome mother, laying the ground for the melting-heart image the device turns on.

vilokamānasya mamādya mātaraṁ
vilokamānasyaof me, as I gaze upon [her] — looking on, taking her in genitive present participle, in one chain with utsarpataḥ (L2) and mama, all describing the speakerदेखते हुए (मुझ) का
mamamy, of me — the welling love and the gaze alike are the speaker's genitive; the hṛdayam that melts in L4 is this 'my' heartमेरा (जिसका हृदय पिघलता है)
adyanow, this very momentआज
mātaram[my] mother — the one he looks at accusative, object of vilokamānasya, qualified by viklavām (L2)माता को
adya — now; mama — of me; viklavām mātaram (L2) — my overcome mother; vilokamānasya — as I gaze upon [her].
'As I gaze, now, upon my mother' — vilokamānasya mama adya mātaram. This line knots the sentence together. The welling-up of the last line and the gazing of this one are both genitives — both 'of me,' Kṛṣṇa. The trigger is utterly plain: right now he is looking at his mother. What that look does to him comes in the final line.
Why cited: part of the udāharaṇa of tulya-tarka (168): the present gaze at the overcome mother that is the cause; its effect on the heart is stated, by likeness, in the line that follows.

havir vilāyaṁ hṛdayaṁ vilīyate
haviḥlike an oblation of ghee — havis, the clarified butter poured into the sacrificial fire (the 'like' left unspoken) nominative standing for havir iva; this suppressed comparison is the elliptical simile (luptopamā)घी की आहुति (के समान) — 'इव' छिपा हुआ है
vilāyammelting away, into dissolution — as the ghee runs and thins in the fire adverbial accusative of vi-lī, 'in the manner of melting'पिघलने की रीति से
hṛdayam[my] heart — the thing that melts nominative subject of vilīyateहृदय
vilīyatedissolves, melts utterly away present middle of vi-lī; echoes vilāyam, doubling the meltingपिघल जाता है
hṛdayam — my heart; havir vilāyam — melting like an oblation of ghee; vilīyate — dissolves clean away.
Here is the point the whole verse was built toward. 'My heart melts away, dissolving like an oblation of ghee' — havir vilāyaṁ hṛdayaṁ vilīyate. You cannot watch a heart melt; that inner softening is apratyakṣa, out of sight. So Rūpa reaches for something you can see — havis, the clarified butter poured into the sacrificial fire, which visibly runs and thins and dissolves. And the 'like' is never even spoken: it is an elliptical simile, luptopamā. By that one parallel image the audience reasons its way to the invisible melting within. That inference-by-likeness — an unseen matter grazed through a figure of equal sense — is precisely tulya-tarka, the ornament of kārikā 168.
Why cited: the line that carries the tulya-tarka (168): 'melting like an oblation of ghee' is an elliptical simile (luptopamā) conveying the imperceptible melting of the heart (citta-drava) — Rūpa's own verdict on the verse, havir vilāyam iti ... apratyakṣasya citta-dravasya kathanaṁ tulya-tarkaḥ.
adya uru-bālya-cāpalaiḥ kadarthanāt api sneha-bhareṇa utsarpataḥ vilokamānasya ca mama viklavām mātaram [vilokamānasya] hṛdayam haviḥ vilāyam iva vilīyate.
Even out of the very trouble I cause her with my endless childish pranks, my love only wells up in a flood — and now, as I gaze upon my mother, undone and overcome with feeling, my heart melts clean away, dissolving like an oblation of ghee poured into the fire.
An udāharaṇa (in Kṛṣṇa's voice, from Lalita-Mādhava 9.26) of tulya-tarka, the ornament defined just above at kārikā 168: the closing 'melting like an oblation of ghee' is an elliptical simile (luptopamā) that makes the imperceptible melting of the heart perceptible.
