kāmaṁ sarvābhīṣṭa-kandaṁ mukundaṁ
kāmaṁgranted that — true enough, he is all this concessive particle, setting up the 'and yet…' that followsयद्यपि, भले ही — आगे आने वाली विरोधी बात ('फिर भी…')
sarvābhīṣṭa-kandaṁthe very root of everything one could wish for kanda 'root, bulb'; describes Mukunda (acc.)
mukundaṁMukunda — Kṛṣṇa himself, whom she sent (the object of prāhiṇot in L2)मुकुन्द (कृष्ण) को
kāmaṁ — granted that; mukundaṁ — Mukunda, Kṛṣṇa; sarvābhīṣṭa-kandaṁ — the very root of all one could wish for
Granted — Mukunda is the very root of everything anyone could ever wish for.
An udāharaṇa of nidarśana, the sandhy-aṅga defined in the preceding kārikā (162): the proclaiming of true, well-known facts in order to dispel another's slighting of them (paropekṣā-vyudāsa). Here Kṛṣṇa's well-known supremacy — root of all wishes, king of wish-gems — is proclaimed even as the teacher's wife unwittingly slights him by packing him off for firewood. Quoted from the play Gārgī (4.6), spoken by Gārgī in Sanskrit.

yā nirbandhāt prāhiṇod indhanāya |
yāshe who — picked up by sā 'that very woman' in L3 relative pronoun, nom. fem.; correlative sā comes in L3जो (स्त्री) — जिसका नित्यसम्बन्धी 'सा' आगे L3 में आता है
nirbandhātout of sheer insistence — she would not be put off ablative of causeहठपूर्ण आग्रह के कारण
prāhiṇotsent him off imperfect of pra-√hi 'dispatch'भेज दिया (प्र-√हि, भूतकाल)
indhanāyato fetch firewood — for mere fuel dative of purposeईंधन (लकड़ी) लाने के लिए
yā — she who; nirbandhāt — out of sheer insistence; indhanāya — to fetch firewood; [mukundaṁ] prāhiṇot — sent Mukunda off
And yet she — who, out of sheer insistence, sent him off to fetch firewood, for mere fuel —

ācāryānī sā karoti sma paṇyaṁ
ācāryānīthe teacher's wife — the ācārya's own wife ācāryānī = wife of the ācāryaआचार्य की पत्नी (गुरुपत्नी)
sāthat very woman — resolving the yā of L2वह (यही ऊपर की 'जो')
karoti smawent and made [him] present + sma = past narration; takes the double accusative paṇyaṁ / cintāmaṇīndramबना दिया (वर्तमान + स्म = भूत-कथन; दो कर्म लेता है — paṇya तथा cintāmaṇīndra)
paṇyaṁinto merchandise — a thing to be traded away predicate accusative of what she turned him intoबिकाऊ व्यापार की वस्तु — जो बनाया गया, वह विधेय कर्म
sā ācāryānī — that very teacher's wife; [cintāmaṇīndram] paṇyaṁ karoti sma — went and made [the king of wish-gems] into mere merchandise
that same teacher's wife went and made him into merchandise — a thing to be traded away —
L4example
piṇyākārthaṁ hanta cintāmaṇīndram
piṇyākārthaṁfor the sake of oil-cake — the worthless refuse left after pressing oil piṇyāka 'oil-cake'; -artham compound = 'for the sake of'खली (तिलकुट) के लिए — piṇyāka 'खली' + -artham 'के निमित्त'
hantaalas! — a cry of dismay at the exchangeहाय!
cintāmaṇīndramthe king of wish-fulfilling gems — Kṛṣṇa, the object she traded away cintāmaṇi 'wish-granting gem' + indra 'chief, king'; accusative, the thing made into paṇyaचिन्तामणियों के राजा को — cintāmaṇi 'मनोवांछित देने वाला रत्न' + indra 'राजा, प्रधान'
hanta — alas!; piṇyākārthaṁ — for the sake of oil-cake; cintāmaṇīndram — the king of wish-fulfilling gems [she made into merchandise]
and all for a scrap of oil-cake! Alas — she turned the very king of wish-fulfilling gems into a bargaining-chip. The lament proclaims his true greatness precisely to expose how badly he was slighted — that is the nidarśana.
kāmaṁ sarvābhīṣṭa-kandaṁ mukundaṁ yā ācāryānī nirbandhāt indhanāya prāhiṇot, sā hanta piṇyākārthaṁ cintāmaṇīndraṁ [taṁ mukundaṁ] paṇyaṁ karoti sma.
Granted, Mukunda is the very root of everything one could ever wish for — and yet that teacher's wife, who out of sheer insistence packed him off to fetch mere firewood, went and made him, the king of wish-fulfilling gems, into a piece of merchandise, alas, all for the sake of a scrap of oil-cake!
