... vibodhaḥ kārya-mārgaṇam ||
vibodhaḥthe aṅga called vibodha ('waking up' to the goal) — the term now being defined nominative, the word being defined; kept in IAST as a technical nirvahaṇa-aṅga nameविबोध (नामक अंग) — जिसका यहाँ लक्षण किया जा रहा है
kārya-mārgaṇamis the active seeking-out of the kārya, the goal the whole plot is driving toward nominative predicate: kārya (the objective to be won) + mārgaṇa (searching, tracking down)कार्य (नाटक के साधने योग्य फल) का मार्गण अर्थात् उसे खोज निकालना
vibodhaḥ — the aṅga vibodha; kārya-mārgaṇam — is the seeking-out of the goal.
vibodhaḥ — विबोध नामक अंग; kārya-mārgaṇam — कार्य (फल) का अन्वेषण है।
vibodha is defined in a single phrase: it is kārya-mārgaṇa, the going-after of the kārya. The kārya is the objective the entire play has been aiming at; vibodha is the moment in the concluding juncture where that goal is actively pursued and tracked down. Rūpa gives only the lakṣaṇa here; the following verse (LM 9.7) will illustrate it.
विबोध वह अंग है जिसमें साधने योग्य कार्य अर्थात् नाटक के फल की खोज की जाती है। यहाँ 'कार्य' साधारण काम-काज नहीं, अपितु कथानक का अन्तिम प्रयोजन (फल) है, और 'मार्गण' उसे ढूँढ़ निकालना है।
vibodha is the second of the aṅgas (limbs) of the nirvahaṇa-sandhi, the concluding juncture, whose fourteen aṅgas the lead-in has just announced ('nirvahaṇasyāṅgāni caturdaśa'); the first, sandhi, was defined and illustrated just before (v105-106 lead-in). The mūla line survives as a fragment — the opening words are elided in the source ('...') — so only the vibodha definition is present to decode. kārya here is the technical dramaturgical term for the plot's final aim (the phala), not 'a task' in the ordinary sense.
[...] vibodhaḥ kārya-mārgaṇam [asti].
kārya-mārgaṇam — साधने योग्य कार्य अर्थात् नाटक के फल की खोज ही vibodhaḥ — विबोध नामक अंग है।
Vibodha ('waking up' to the goal) is the seeking-out of the kārya — the active tracking-down, in the concluding juncture, of the very objective toward which the whole plot has been driving. (Only this defining phrase survives; the opening words of the line are lost in the source.)
जिसमें साधने योग्य कार्य अर्थात् कथानक के अन्तिम प्रयोजन (फल) की खोज की जाती है, वह अंग विबोध कहलाता है; यहाँ 'कार्य' कोई साधारण काम-काज नहीं, अपितु नाटक का अभीष्ट फल है, और 'मार्गण' उसे ढूँढ़ निकालना है।
A lakṣaṇa: defines vibodha, the second aṅga of the nirvahaṇa-sandhi, as kārya-mārgaṇa (the pursuit of the plot's final aim); the line survives only as a fragment, and LM 9.7 will illustrate it.
यह कारिका सन्धि-अवयवों में से विबोध नामक अंग का लक्षण देती है।
