alaṁ vilāpaiḥ samaya-kramasya
alaṁ vilāpaiḥenough with the laments — stop your weeping alam + instrumental = "enough of / no more"बस, अब विलाप से क्या लाभ — तृतीया के साथ 'अलम्' अर्थात् 'बहुत हुआ, अब और नहीं'
samaya-kramasyaof the onward march of time — its sequence of seasons genitive; belongs to gatayaḥ in the next lineसमय के क्रम का — यह षष्ठी आगे की पंक्ति के 'गतयः' से जुड़ती है
alaṁ vilāpaiḥ — enough with laments, stop weeping; samaya-kramasya — of time's onward march (its ways, carried into the next line).
Enough of your weeping — put the laments aside. As for the march of time, its sequence of seasons...
An udāharaṇa of prarocanā — 'the hinting of a coming matter as if already accomplished' (lakṣaṇa at 6.92, kārikā 102: siddhavad bhāvino'rthasya sūcanā syāt prarocanā). The lines are spoken by Nava-vṛndā, consoling a grieving one: the season's own herald already shows the longed-for time to be at hand.

khelanty akasmāt khalu khañjarīṭāḥ || 7.5 ||
akasmātall of a sudden, out of nowhere ablative used adverbially = "suddenly"अकस्मात्, सहसा — पंचमी यहाँ क्रियाविशेषण की भाँति 'अचानक' अर्थ देती है
khaluwhy, see — surely emphatic, pointing to the signनिश्चय ही — यह शब्द उस शुभ चिह्न की ओर बल देकर संकेत करता है
khañjarīṭāḥ — the wagtails; akasmāt khalu — all at once, see; khelanti — are at play.
the wagtails are suddenly at play! Their sporting is autumn's own herald — the sign that the longed-for season has already come. This is prarocanā: the coming happy thing shown as good as accomplished, so grief should give way to hope.
The khañjana (wagtail) sighted at autumn's onset is a bird of good omen; its sudden sporting is read as the herald of the coming auspicious time — exactly the 'coming matter displayed as if already achieved' that prarocanā names.
(he śokārta) vilāpaiḥ alam; samaya-kramasya gatayaḥ durūha-rūpāḥ bhavanti; paśya — śarad-mukhe saras-taṭīṣu khañjarīṭāḥ akasmāt khalu khelanti.
Enough of your weeping — put the laments aside; the ways that time's onward march will take are impossible to fathom, its turns inscrutable. Just look: now, at the very onset of autumn, there on the banks of the ponds, the wagtails are all at once at play — surely a sign that the longed-for season has already come.
An udāharaṇa illustrating prarocanā (lakṣaṇa at 6.92) — the coming happy thing hinted as good as accomplished; quoted from Nava-vṛndā 7.5, where Nava-vṛndā consoles a grieving one by reading the wagtails' play as autumn's own herald.
