An udāharaṇa of avavāda — 'the proclaiming of a fault or grievance' (defined in the intro to this unit as doṣa-prakhyā avavādaḥ syāt, 'avavāda is the making-known of a fault'). It is the first of the thirteen aṅgas of the vimarśa-sandhi listed in the preceding kārikā, ref 95 (avavādo'yaṁ sampheṭo vidrava-drava-śaktayaḥ…). Spoken by Rādhikā savyatham — 'in distress, with a pang' — in the seventh act of the same play: her grievance is that even the long-sought dream of Govinda was snatched from her in an instant.

how did that man — the king's own officer — come pressing right up! With his chariot he drew near to carry Govinda off, and so even the dream's one glimpse was torn away. This is avavāda: Rādhā proclaims her grievance, that separation broke in even upon the long-sought dream itself.
