ayamhere it is — the demonstrative that opens the roll-call of limbs nom. sg., points to the enumeration about to unfold; largely metricalयह — (अब जिस सूची का वर्णन होने वाला है उसकी ओर संकेत; प्रायः छन्द की पूर्ति के लिए)
sampheṭaḥthe second — sampheṭa, an angry altercation, heated words traded back and forth nominative — second itemसम्फेट — दूसरा अंग
vidrava-drava-śaktayaḥthen vidrava (violent tumult, a rout), drava (an affront offered to a superior), and śakti (the calming of the anger) three-member dvandva in the nom. pl. — items three, four, and fiveविद्रव, द्रव और शक्ति — (द्वन्द्व-समास; क्रमशः) तीसरा, चौथा और पाँचवाँ अंग
ayam — here they are; avavādaḥ — the first, avavāda (censure); sampheṭaḥ — the second, sampheṭa (angry altercation); vidrava-drava-śaktayaḥ — then vidrava (tumult), drava (an affront to a superior), and śakti (the pacifying of anger).
This kārikā does one job: it names the thirteen limbs (aṅgas) of the vimarśa-sandhi, the sandhi of deliberation. Each name here is only listed; each gets its own defining verse in the kārikās that follow. The first five: avavāda — censure, declaring a fault; sampheṭa — a heated altercation; vidrava — violent commotion or rout; drava — an affront offered to a respected person; and śakti — the pacifying of that anger.
This is an uddeśa (a bare enumeration), not a lakṣaṇa. It lists the thirteen sandhy-aṅgas — the component 'limbs' — of the vimarśa-sandhi defined just above (v076). The definitions of the individual limbs begin in the next kārikā (v080, avavāda) and run through the following verses. The list follows the standard nāṭya-śāstra enumeration (cf. Daśarūpaka).
