९१- अत्रानुनासिकः पूर्वस्य तु वा।91. atrānunāsikaḥ pūrvasya tu vā.अत्र अव्ययपदम्, अनुनासिकः प्रथमान्तं, पूर्वस्य षष्ठ्यन्तं, तु अव्ययपदं, वा अव्ययपदम्, अनेकपदमिदं सूत्रम्।atra is an indeclinable word (avyaya), anunāsikaḥ is in the nominative (prathamā), pūrvasya is in the genitive (ṣaṣṭhī), tu is an indeclinable word (avyaya), vā is an indeclinable word (avyaya); this sūtra has several words.
इस रु के प्रकरण में रु से पूर्व वर्ण को विकल्प से अनुनासिक आदेश होता है।In this section on ru, the substitute anunāsika (a nasalized vowel) optionally takes the place of the letter preceding ru.
इस सूत्र में अत्र यह शब्द मतुवसो रु सम्बुद्धौ छन्दसि आदि सूत्रों से किये गये रु को बताता है।In this sūtra, the word atra indicates the ru effected by the sūtras such as matuvaso ru sambuddhau chandasi.अतः ससजुषो रुः से किये गये रु को नहीं लिया जाता है।Therefore the ru effected by sasajuṣo ruḥ is not included.पूर्वोक्त सूत्रों से रु करने पर उस रु से पहले जो भी अच् वर्ण हो, उसे यह अनुनासिक अच् आदेश करता है।When ru is effected by the aforementioned sūtras, whatever vowel (ac) letter precedes that ru, this sūtra makes it an anunāsika (nasalized) vowel (ac) as its substitute.
