rādhā-mādhavayor eva, na tu preyasy-antara-mādhavayoḥ |
rādhā-mādhavayoḥ evaof Rādhā and Mādhava alone — he picks up the verse's eva and makes it do exclusive workराधा और माधव — इन्हीं दोनों की
na tubut not — and here is what the eva shuts outकिन्तु नहीं — 'तु' पहले पक्ष के विरुद्ध दूसरा पक्ष खड़ा करता है
preyasī-antara-mādhavayoḥof some other beloved and Mādhava printed preyasy-antara-; antara after a noun means 'another' — another beloved, with Mādhava still the second member of the pairकिसी दूसरी प्रेयसी और माधव की नहीं — छपा हुआ रूप 'प्रेयस्यन्तर-' है; संज्ञा के बाद आया 'अन्तर' 'दूसरा' कहता है, और माधव जोड़े में दूसरे पद पर बने रहते हैं
rādhā-mādhavayoḥ eva — of Rādhā and Mādhava alone; na tu — but not; preyasī-antara-mādhavayoḥ — of another beloved and Mādhava.
Jīva takes the 'eva' first. It is exclusive. The unbreakable love is Rādhā's with Mādhava — not another beloved's with the same Mādhava. Note what is held constant and what is swapped: Mādhava stays, the woman changes, and the claim no longer holds.
preyasī is simply 'the beloved woman'; preyasy-antara is 'another beloved'. The compound keeps Mādhava on both sides, so the contrast is drawn on one term only.

ratiḥ sa-vyāja-vyatidarśanādi-mayī naiva vicchidyate, nāvṛtā syāt |
ratiḥthe rati, the love — the verse's last word, taken up firstवह रति, जिसकी बात मूल श्लोक कर रहा है
sa-vyāja-vyatidarśana-ādi-mayīwhich is made of their catching sight of each other on some pretext, and the like sa-vyāja, 'with an excuse'; vyati- in vyatidarśana marks a reciprocal act — each seeing the other; -mayī, 'consisting of', makes these meetings the very stuff of the love, not incidents in itजो किसी बहाने की ओट में हुए आमने-सामने के दर्शन आदि से ही बनी है — 'सव्याज' अर्थात् बहाने सहित, 'व्यति' परस्परता दिखाता है, और 'मयी' कहता है कि ये मिलन उस प्रेम की सामग्री ही हैं, उसमें घटी हुई घटनाएँ मात्र नहीं
na eva vicchidyateis never cut throughकभी नहीं काटी जाती
na āvṛtā syātthat is, it would never even be covered over printed nāvṛtā syāt; optative, glossing the passive vicchidyate — Jīva reads 'cut' as 'veiled'अर्थात् वह ढकी हुई न हो — छपा हुआ रूप 'नावृता स्यात्' है; विधिलिङ् में यह 'विच्छिद्यते' की व्याख्या है, और जीव 'कटना' का अर्थ 'ढँक जाना' लेते हैं
sa-vyāja-vyatidarśana-ādi-mayī ratiḥ — the love that consists of their seeing each other on some pretext and so on; na eva vicchidyate — is never cut through; na āvṛtā syāt — it would never be covered over.
Jīva describes this love by what it is made of: glances exchanged under some excuse, and the rest of that. Then he glosses 'cut through' — and he makes the claim stronger, not weaker. Not merely never destroyed: never even veiled. Nothing gets in front of it for a moment.
vyāja is a pretext — the errand, the water-pot, the path taken past him. sa-vyāja marks the meeting as one arranged under cover of something else; -ādi, 'and the rest', keeps the list open.

tad-virodhi-samīhā-mayaiḥmoods, that is, made of an effort that works against that love samīhā is a striving or intent; the compound narrows which bhāvas are meant — only those actually aimed against this ratiजो उस रति के विरोधी प्रयत्न से ही बने हों — 'समीहा' अर्थात् चेष्टा या अभिप्राय; इस पद से केवल वे ही भाव लिए जाते हैं जो सचमुच इस रति के विरुद्ध तने हुए हैं
kaiḥ — by what moods? sajātīyaiḥ — by same-kind ones; tat-preyasī-antara-vyañjitaiḥ — displayed by another beloved of his; vijātīyaiḥ — by different-kind ones; tad-vatsalatā-ādi-vyañjitaiḥ — displayed as motherly affection toward him and the like; bhāvaiḥ tad-virodhi-samīhā-mayaiḥ — by such moods as consist of a striving against that love.
By what moods, then? Jīva fills in both classes. Same-kind: what another of his beloveds shows — a rival's love, the same sort of feeling. Different-kind: motherly affection toward him and so on, feeling from another rasa altogether. And he adds a limit on both: the moods in question are the ones carrying an intent that works against this love. So it is not any mood at all, but exactly the ones that would be trying to break it — and even those do not.
sajātīya / vijātīya, 'of the same class' and 'of another class': a rival gopī's love is same-class because it is the same kind of feeling for the same person; Yaśodā's motherly affection is different-class because it belongs to another rasa. Jīva's point in naming both is coverage — a rival from inside the mood and a claim from outside it, and neither one interrupts.
