'Hardship' is the eightfold yoga practice, painful by nature, carried on over many births. Yogīs who have used it to hold the mind steady still cannot get the dust of his feet — even a mind made that steady cannot obtain it. And that very person is Kṛṣṇa himself, not a portion of him. 'On his own' means he himself is the cause; it does not rest on any other body. It is simply his nature. And — what a wonder — he stands right inside the range of their eyes. These are mere Vraja residents. Their 'good fortune' is merit earned earlier. Can it be described? No, it cannot. What should be described is his standing there: natural to him, and great because it is of that kind.
Where Jīva writes dṛg-viṣaya-sthitaḥ, Viśvanātha has the locative dṛg-viṣaye sthitaḥ; and where Jīva rules out 'any other cause', Viśvanātha rules out a cause 'depending on another body'.
जहाँ जीव 'दृग्-विषय-स्थितः' लिखते हैं, वहाँ विश्वनाथ सप्तमी वाला 'दृग्-विषये स्थितः' रखते हैं; और जहाँ जीव 'किसी अन्य कारण' का निषेध करते हैं, वहाँ विश्वनाथ 'दूसरी देह की अपेक्षा रखने वाले कारण' का निषेध करते हैं।

tat eva — just that much; saha-vihāra-kṛtām pūrvokta-sakhīnām — of the friends spoken of earlier, who join in his play; kim uta — how much more; iti bhāvaḥ — that is the drift
tat eva — तो यही; saha-vihāra-kṛtām — साथ विहार करने वालियों का; pūrvokta-sakhīnām — पूर्वोक्त सखियों का; kim uta — तो फिर क्या कहना; iti bhāvaḥ — यही भाव है।
If that is so, then what of the friends spoken of earlier, who play together with him? How much more must be said of them. That is the sense.
तो जब साधारण व्रजवासियों का यह हाल है, तब जो उनके साथ विहार करती हैं उन पूर्वोक्त सखियों के भाग्य का तो कहना ही क्या—यही भाव है।

sthita iti śīlitāditvād vartamāne ktaḥ |
sthitaḥ itias for the word sthitaḥ'स्थितः' यह जो पद है
śīlita-āditvātbecause it belongs to the śīlita group of words ablative of reason: this is the licence for the reading that follows'शीलित' आदि गण में होने के कारण
vartamāne ktaḥthe -ta suffix here carries present timeयहाँ क्त प्रत्यय वर्तमान काल में (हुआ है)
sthitaḥ iti — as for the word sthitaḥ; śīlita-āditvāt — because it falls in the śīlita group; vartamāne ktaḥ — the -ta suffix carries present time
sthitaḥ iti — 'स्थितः' यह; śīlita-āditvāt — 'शीलित' आदि गण में होने से; vartamāne ktaḥ — वर्तमान में क्त।
On the word sthitaḥ. Because it belongs to the śīlita set of words, its -ta ending stands for present time. So: 'he is standing', not 'he stood'.
'स्थितः' यह पद 'शीलित' आदि गण में आता है, इसी कारण यहाँ क्त प्रत्यय वर्तमान काल के अर्थ में लगा है।
kta is the -ta participle suffix, normally past; vartamāna is present time. The śīlita-type words are the listed exception.
'क्त' वह '-त' कृदन्त प्रत्यय है, जो सामान्यतः भूत का द्योतक है; 'वर्तमान' वर्तमान काल है। 'शीलित' आदि शब्द इसके गिने हुए अपवाद हैं।

tat sarvam antaḥ bahiḥ ca vyāpya — having spread through all of it, inside and outside; nārāyaṇaḥ sthitaḥ — Nārāyaṇa stands; itivat — as in that passage
antaḥ bahiḥ ca — भीतर और बाहर; tat sarvam vyāpya — उस सबमें व्याप्त होकर; nārāyaṇaḥ sthitaḥ — नारायण स्थित हैं; itivat — इत्यादि के समान।
'Nārāyaṇa stands, spread through all of it, inside and out.' Just like that. There too sthitaḥ is present — he stands, now.
'भीतर और बाहर उस सबमें व्याप्त होकर नारायण स्थित हैं'—इस (प्रसिद्ध वाक्य) के समान।
Why cited: the settled parallel: sthitaḥ in this familiar line can only mean present 'stands', which licenses the same reading in the verse
क्यों उद्धृत: यह वह निश्चित समानान्तर है—इस सुपरिचित पंक्ति में 'स्थितः' का अर्थ केवल वर्तमान 'स्थित है' ही हो सकता है, जिससे श्लोक में भी वही पाठ सिद्ध होता है।
