An udāharaṇa of utkaṇṭhita — 'longing in separation' — under prīti-bhakti (dāsya) rasa; the lead-in reads tatra utkaṇṭhitam, yathā. In the servant's mood of longing, Pradyumna aches to see his master-father Kṛṣṇa. The verse is a yamaka show-piece built on the near-rhymes śambara / ḍambara / ambara and ambu-rāja / kambu-rāja.
