yayauhe went into, he reachedपहुँच गया, प्राप्त हो गया
dāruko — Dāruka; harim — Kṛṣṇa; samakṣam — right before his eyes; prekṣya — on seeing; añjali-bandhane — to fold his hands in reverence; akṣamaḥ — being unable; dvārakā-dvāri — at the gate of Dvārakā; tatra — there; citra-daśāṁ — a wondrous, picture-still state; yayau — he reached.
Dāruka, Kṛṣṇa's charioteer, saw Hari right in front of him at the gate of Dvārakā. He could not even fold his hands in reverence. On that very spot he reached a wondrous state — he stood frozen stiff, like a figure in a painting.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse, 'yathā vā—') in the dāsya-rasa laharī: it shows a servant so overcome at the sight of his master that his body locks up — a stunned, motionless anubhāva of loving servitude. The whole point turns on the śleṣa in citra-daśām: citra means 'wonderful', so he reached a marvelous state; citra also means 'a picture', so he became still as a painted figure, unable to move a limb — the two readings say the same overwhelming thing at once.

samakṣam agre śrī-kṛṣṇaṁ prekṣya añjali-bandhane’samartho dārukaḥ ||
samakṣam agre'samakṣam' means 'in front, right before him'सामने, सम्मुख
śrī-kṛṣṇaṁ prekṣyaon seeing Śrī Kṛṣṇa — spelling out that the 'Hari' seen is Kṛṣṇaश्रीकृष्ण को देखकर
añjali-bandhane’samarthounable to fold his hands — glossing the verse's akṣamaḥ as asamarthaḥ, 'incapable' sandhi: añjali-bandhane asamarthaḥ, the a- restored after the avagraha (’)हाथ जोड़ने में असमर्थ (सन्धि खुलने पर — अंजलि-बन्धने असमर्थः)
dārukaḥDāruka — such is he, the one so overcomeदारुक
samakṣam — glossed by agre, 'in front'; śrī-kṛṣṇaṁ prekṣya — on seeing Śrī Kṛṣṇa; añjali-bandhane asamarthaḥ — unable to fold his hands; dārukaḥ — [this is] Dāruka.
Viśvanātha simply walks through the words. 'Samakṣam' means right in front of him. On seeing Śrī Kṛṣṇa there, Dāruka was unable even to fold his hands in reverence.
He renders the verse's akṣamaḥ ('unable') by the plainer asamarthaḥ ('incapable'), tying it to añjali-bandhane — Dāruka is incapable specifically of the act of folding his hands. He does not touch the citra-daśām śleṣa; his gloss stops at explaining who saw whom and what the servant could not do.
